Title: Which Bookies Take a Bet ?

It would be interesting to get differing views.

Weird.   My experience of your top five are:

Boyles - restricted me to £4 after one winner.
Paddy - restricted to pennies after a week.
Victor - account shut after four days and winning £1k
365 - I was restricted to £2.45 after my third bet.  Have tried to open up numerous other accounts and all the same.  Had an experience similar to yours with bwin.
Hills - online give me £30 ish occasionally.  I normally use their shops though which are okay ish.

Of your worst five I find Bluesq fine and Bwin lay me a small but fair bet although I use them very rarely.

I ruined a lot of my accounts when I was 18-20 working at skybet by backing every mover every day without thinking about the consequences.

The only ones that will lay me a decent bet now are VC sometimes, Totesport, Ladbrokes (best by far, don't know where I'd be without this account) and Boyles but no racing.

With the others:
Betfred - Closed after backing Keegan big for next Newcastle manager 2 minutes before he was appointed @ 9/4 (fair enough)
BSQ - Limited to £2.50 a bet after backing Pab to win GUKPT @ 100s or whatever and he did (absolutely outrageous)
365 - Limited to win £0 max after backing Go Native to win the Supreme Novices @ 33s and it did (joke, its Cheltenham ffs)
Stan James - Closed even though I had a losing account, the final straw seemed to be when I backed Swansea to beat Sheff Utd 4-0 @ best price of 40s 2 seasons ago (Don't get this at all, correct score bets are seldom shrewd).
Coral - Was closed many moons ago after backing an Irish horse @ 33s that went off 11/4 (but it lost!!!)
Bwin - Set up account and backed a local non league team, don't even think they won, closed. Opened new account for poker, left it a few months later backed someone at 7/2 for Britains Got Talent semi who should have been 11/8 and he won and I was gone again (just don't want to take anything at all)
Paddy Power - Gave me a good run but a big bet on Newcastle this season w/o the big 6 seems to have been the end

Where do these people who punt huge like Tony Bloom put bets on if all bookies are such monster pussies?

I think Coral should have that countdown music playing while the "sending to trader" message is displayed.

And Fraser you are correct, "warm" horses get you closed down/restricted way quicker than other bets.

Bloom has very good relationships with some asian agents who place his bets out there.  Asian and US bookies are generally much better than in the UK and the exchanges are also utilised by him I assume.  I would be fairly surprised if Tony has had a bet with a firm like Stan James or 365 in the last ten years.

Fraser - I bet everything and I think it tends to just be how your bets fall and how the traders feel on the day.  I try to avoid anything too filthy because I have worked for firms and know how it feels to get the really dirty stuff.  It is weird talking to various different people who are shrewd on here and elsewhere because most people seem to randomly have a firm that they can get on with but noboby else can.  Keith always says 365 are okay for him and I cant get a penny, you like Boyles but again I can't get anything yet  have always been treated well by Blue Sq who some find awful.  Only firms I know that everyone finds dreadful are Corals and Freds which is a disgrace given their size and shop estates.

Ladbrokes don't like any sort of winner

11 years ago, with internet betting still in it's infancy i had a laddies acct
When I broke my leg playing footie I was punting for fun to ease the boredom of sitting on the sofa all day. Never did more than a quid and most bets were 10-50p (wasn't earning after all)

Had my max win reduced down to something like £250, which was redic as betting pennies I wasn't even gonna get close to that.

I'm amazed Boyles take your bets Fraser.

I think they would be at or very near the top of the worst bookmakers in the market.

Stan James, Betfred, Boyles, Skybet, VC and Coral are terrible and shut down very very quickly.

I would say Ladbrokes, Bet365 and William Hill are the most lenient and in general give punters the best run before the ban hammer.

Obviously varies from punter to punter though.

I can get good bets on with boyles and the account is +30% over the last 2 years, i constantly expect it to get limited but it never does.  They limited me to £60 each way on a 28/1 shot the other day but not sure if thats just general limits. I did spanner off a load of money on their roulette one day after a few beers so maybe thats why they let me carry on.

I don't really have much experience online to be quite honest. Online is 24/7 and I am scared to death that if I create so many accounts with different bookies and poker rooms that I will do my nuts in. I only have one 'active' betting account online which is William Hill, this is for the simple reason that you can deposit online and withdraw in the shop.

As some of my topics have been seen by others, you can imagine I am familar with many of the bookies. There are many bookies around the country that are pretty dominant in certain areas, like WH in Sheffield and Ladbrokes in Manchester.

Ladbrokes

I am neither here or there on Ladbrokes. When I lived in Manchester they are pretty much on every street corner you can imagine, so was my local. I find most of the shops out of date. Money wise? Meh, never won big in Ladbrokes.

Betfred

I do not like Betfred at all. I find the customer service is poor and I find their money management is absolutely disgraceful. You can go into the Betfred and a little win can take hours to cash out. They never have any more money in their shops, not just one shop, in all of their shops I have had this experience. "will you wait until I get back from bank"

I do not bet with Betfred for this and another reason.

William Hill

These are the lowest of the low and only over the last two weeks I have found this out.

I have lost hundreds of pounds by because of their lazy staff and their customer service is just poor. I've lost out on better prices because of their staff and it annoys the hell out of me, because if you question them about it, there is no way of knowing, etc.

I've been in these shops when I have won a lot of money. A recent one was a couple of months ago when I won £9k, then £4k just a couple of weeks before it. They had 'warned' me how much the shop was holding and so on. Along with this I get warned by shop advisors/manager that the shop can't pay out 'significant' wins in the same day.

I also add that a big bet £100/£200 bet on dog/horse is followed by an enquiry. Just take the bet, I'm a punter, not a genius.

I think with William Hill they know they have so much dominance in the market, so they can treat you like shite! Funny really, because I haven't bet with them for the last week or so, due to something about £20.

PS - I also think these 'Quick Fire Doubles' that they have are a complete fix. They only offer these odd times and I haven't seen one come in for months.

Coral

I find these very good.

As mentioned above I have stopped betting with William Hill and Betfred, so my next option is Coral. The customer service is great, fi you query something, they will sort it, when you place a bet, they will be pleasant. great stuff.

Not really had an issue money wise with them yet, I am sure it will happen.

But at the moment, mighty pleased with Coral so far.

live shops totally depend on the area and how easy your marked, I ran bets for a guy and was virtually banned in the town centre, but they even put internet prices through for me ten mins away. Had 1k on a top scorer in an Ipl game, cashier scans it through in 4 250s past verification lol. Sometimes total pot luck.

Sky/Stan easily renowned worst online. 365 best for me.

Live worst in general are corals/tote. Tote have never laid anything for me and especially hate any antepost match bets. Tried for 10ks worth in different shops/days/places and never did anything, got about 2k total, just a joke
