You rightly both play the flop strongly, because you don't wish to allow in all those hands that could have seen the flop cheaply and now the board is dangerous they could have a big draw. Very tough and only one way this can go I am afraid.

I could have him on a large range of hands there with bigger set just being one of them. If you genuinely put him on that, then you must pass. I wouldn't have passed, but that wouldn't have been my read. How certain were you? If you figure anything approaching 50 % your play is questionable to say the least. Sorry no offence meant but why call if you think you are behind?

I didn't fold entirely because i find it very difficult to fold a flopped set, it is not a +ev play as noflops pointed out before. Title: Re: Can you get away from this hand? I am just reading Harringtons books and he comments that "when a guy tells me he lays down a set on the flop after some intricate thought process my first reaction is Idiot" (or words to that effect.)
