Title: A little help please
Post by: parker on June 14, 2012, 07:59:58 PM
Perhaps a little cheeky....

Was wondering if i could rail someone grinding stt (mtt).

Im doing well spinning up my roll on stars but feel there may be gaps in my push/fold. Had too many 4th places imo.

Heads up ive had more 2nds then i feel are right. General run bad considered i should still be winning a few more.

So if someone wouldnt mind me railing on something like teamviewer that would be a MASSIVE help.

thanks

you'd be much better off meeting up with a bunch of randoms for a chat over a cup of coffee.

micros on stars. 3.50 9 man turbos.

2.50 turbo 180 mans
3.50 turbo 45 mans

comfortable playing 10-12.

Anyone who is worth listening to isn't going to do this for free...

Understandable point. But any pointers would be appreciated. Not looking for a freebie merely people 2cents  :)

How about a coaching site, watch videos for the format that you want to improve in?

People might be able to suggest suitable ones for you

If you do use pokeredge I would recomend looking up Casey Jarzabeck (bigdogpckt5s) videos especially for final table strategy /theories

In fact heres a link to a free sample   hope it helps

There are many "free" ways of improving. Start posting hands you struggle with for a start on PHA, there are number of us on here who play/have played these games and are likely to reply.

There are pieces of software that will help you, that have free trials. Given you are playing games where the most crucial thing is getting your push/fold right, I would start with sngwiz. Also if you are multitabling table ninja certainly helps. Also looking into getting tracking software, Holdemmanager is what I use.

Even though as MC correctly points out, it seems unlikely you will be able to get someone legit good to help you out for free. There are groups out there of intermediate players who discuss strat and stuff, I believe there was an attempt to get one going on here. Don't know how it went and if it is still going. If not 2+2 is a good place to make contacts.

If you are prepared to work hard enough/look in the right places, there are plenty of opportunites to improve your game quite rapidly.

thanks! appreciated!

Im experienced enough I am better than a break even player but I dont have an insane edge. im pretty compitent with all aspects of the game (from an understanding point of view, maybe not in practice).

No results worth talking about. Not even half a flag but a few reasonable results live at my local g etc.

I have a genuine love for the game. Can play 10-12 tables for hours on end and not get bored. Rarely tilt.

No holdem manager until i get the old codes off my old laptop which is elsewhere. Getting table ninja aswell.

If im doing ok next week I will start a diary. fingers crossed  -- [?]

so far so good....

just did a session of $2.50 180 man turbos.

Made 2 final tables, a 6th and I also did a win @ pokerz. Chuffed as its my first propper bink in these comps. $123 for a $2.50 buy in is retarded value in my book.

Had some horrific run bad.. people floating 33 on aqx board when i have ak... gg me... but i wont bore you with bad beats. Most of it I doubt I saw.

Took some good advice with stacking my tables. Definately made a difference. When i tilt i tend not to spew... more that it just puts me off playing. so taking advice ftw means ready for another session.

I much needed boost to the bankroll.

The actual figures....

Played - 35 comps
Profit $82

1 x 1st
1 x 6th
5 x min cash

Right now my biggest concern is my mid/late game.

Once we reach the bubble (18) I am as a general rule around 10/11 place. Need to be more aggro around 30ish i think.

Will keep an update going and maybe a diary will occur!!!
