Title: Cross Trainers? Post by: MahoganyVic on June 17, 2012, 10:58:19 AM The Mrs is constantly moaning about being fat and wants to get a cross trainer. She's put me in charge of finding one, but as i'm not homosexual I don't have a clue about them.
Don't suppose anyone can point me in the direction of a good value one? Preferable £500 max, but can be more if the cheaper ones are going to be a disgrace. Title: Re: Cross Trainers? Post by: millidonk on June 17, 2012, 11:02:44 AM Lol @ homosexual. I did loads of research on this, but unfortunately due to my weight I had to get one with a beasty max capacity which ended up costing me £1200. Is really good though.
If you have a fair bit of beef you are defo better off going with the legit models they actually have in gyms as opposed to a 'home gym' style. <16 st you will be fine on normal ones. Load of reviews on amazon: http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cross+trainer&x=0&y=0 (http://www.amazon.co.uk/s/ref=nb_sb_noss_1?url=search-alias%3Daps&field-keywords=cross+trainer&x=0&y=0) Also I would suggest joining the weightloss thread, great fun: http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=56169.msg1589176#new (http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=56169.msg1589176#new) Title: Re: Cross Trainers? Cheers for the info. I will take a look at the blonde fitness thread once Title: Re: Cross Trainers? Post by: GreekStein on June 17, 2012, 01:50:43 PM Where do you live? I've got a cross trainer and a treadmill at home that we don't use - will sell either one if you collect. Big piece of kit.
Title: Re: Cross Trainers? Post by: RioRodent on June 17, 2012, 02:49:37 PM I used to make a good living doing warranty repairs for Icon Health & Fitness. Their brands are NordicTrack, Proform and Weslo... They are all shite.
We also did some [much less] work for Johnson Health Tech... Their brands, Vision and Horizon, are way better and would be my choice if I was buying a domestic level machine. I would steer clear of other low rent brands such as Roger Black, Reebok, Carl Lewis. Title: Re: Cross Trainers? Post by: MahoganyVic on June 17, 2012, 04:47:09 PM Cheers for the info Rodent.
Am up in Lancashire close to Blackpool Greek, where are you? Cheers! Title: Re: Cross Trainers? Post by: MahoganyVic on June 17, 2012, 10:51:30 PM I have had her joining the gym but I think she went twice in three months before cancelling. She works quite far from home so it is a struggle to get back out after work. Cross trainer will still prob be in the shed in a few months mind you
Title: Re: Cross Trainers? Post by: zerofive on June 17, 2012, 10:54:04 PM why not just join a gym and save money, space in the house etc etc This, and it's not even close. Cross trainers are good but will get boring. Gym membership is normally £20-40/month and you will get loads more out of that for £500~ than a cross trainer. Title: Re: Cross Trainers?
