Early in the WU. Hero has been active, made a few 3bs and got them through. Havent shown down a hand yet. Villain is a decent winner at $27 ave buyin. Villain has 3b peeled twice earlier vs other oppos. What do we think to our options and why? Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: pleno1 on June 17, 2012, 04:54:16 PM cal, play a pot, when you say 3b peeled do you mean 3bet and then called a 4bet? what did he show up with? isnt 40/80 level 2?
min raise is too small pre as well Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: WPIL on June 17, 2012, 04:54:58 PM Why is your face purple?
Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: JK on June 17, 2012, 05:02:57 PM cal, play a pot, when you say 3b peeled do you mean 3bet and then called a 4bet? what did he show up with? isnt 40/80 level 2? min raise is too small pre as well Yeah 3b/peeled 4b. He didnt get to showdown in those pots, 1 he folded flop and second went ch/ch b/f. 40/80 is level 3 Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: WPIL on June 17, 2012, 05:07:01 PM Not reraising him - is he just agressive pre (although only 2 hands)?
Also 2.2 pre (2.5 nobody notice?) Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: pleno1 on June 17, 2012, 05:26:23 PM Just 4bet then doesn't seem close?
Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: JK on June 17, 2012, 05:33:49 PM Just 4bet then doesn't seem close? What are you then doing vs a 5b? He may be a little peel happy but I dont think hes ever getting massively OOL and committing suicide with JJ-/AQ-. Chances are if we 4b he'll peel and we play a pot with a strong hand and a nice amount in the middle. This feels like the nut line, but doing so means we should be 4b folding right? Which just feels dirty Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: pleno1 on June 17, 2012, 06:05:14 PM if a guy is peeling 4bets and randomly playing terrible and decides to 3bet and then 5bet and very best of luck to him if he has kk+ vs 99% of people i wouldnt 4b/6b but vs him it seems totally fine.
Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: Rupert on June 17, 2012, 09:36:36 PM Pretty sure when you 4 bet you look ridiculously strong. My standard line is to flat most hands here, 4 bet KJ or something if I'm feeling a bit excitable!!

Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: Rupert on June 17, 2012, 09:47:10 PM prob had a decent hand both times, 4 bet if you want but 2 hands isn't really a sample or dynamic this early
Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: Nit Tendencies on June 18, 2012, 12:01:15 AM I'm with rupert here, I've played with siren smith a lot and he plays decent. He is pretty aggro though so I think peeling is by far the best option; keep his bluffs in, let him value cut himself with JJ/TT and keep our percieved range as wide and as weak as possible.
Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: rfgqqabc on June 18, 2012, 02:23:23 AM He prob views JK as weaker in comparison to his view of you pleno making 4/5/6/7betting worse here. Plus we keep the peel in.
I 3x pre at this stage, i think min isn't great. (edit: presumably making 2.5x correct?) Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: Rupert on June 18, 2012, 02:34:53 AM Yeah missed that, 160 is too small 200-240 is much better
Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: JK on June 18, 2012, 10:53:08 AM Cheers for the comments guys. Agree, in hindsight, that I should probably be peeling. As I have no history with him and Im just a $5 average BI grinder (or something like that), peeling is probably more optimal with our good hands as he expects us to just get them in.
Think I was just a bit worried about getting owned post/playing a flop OOP because im a pussy :D Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: cambridgealex on June 18, 2012, 03:10:03 PM We should be 3x ing in levels 1-3 while we're still 100bbs deep.
Not 4betting, and not folding, thus peeling becomes the line by default. I think you gave these guys too much credit, the million and wu yesterday were softer than the 33r and 55s I played by someway. Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: The Squid on June 18, 2012, 07:57:53 PM Obv the standard play is to peel and check call one. From a game theory point of view this is probably optimal. However, I would fold pre to this guy (who is a reg). In my experience a solid reg has you beat nearly always.

Yeh when Sammy 3 bets (reg) fold QQ or worse. Title: Re: Early spot in Half price Sunday WU Post by: Nit Tendencies on June 18, 2012, 11:14:59 PM SamSquid sure has ever folded QQ pre.
