Title: The buzz of Blackjack and sports betting.
Post by: aaron1867 on June 18, 2012, 07:06:58 AM
Just a couple of questions regarding BJ and other stuff to see what opinions are of it.

I enjoy Blackjack more than roulette and 3 card poker, but sometimes I can get annoyed with dealer and so on, so wondered personal experience & views are? When I start to play BJ at a table I need to make a decision on whether I am playing the side bet or not and we have all been there when you stop or start betting on the side and it does or doesn't come in, believe me, I have seen it happen to me loads of times, cost me a fortune.

But I like the thrill of the game, get no real buzz from other house games. But I have an annoyance with the dealer this particular time and funnily enough this was @ DTD. I play the side bet of (£10-£25) and normal BJ stake of around double and playing 2 boxes, so therefore I want a real sweat. There are 2 people at the table and this is like 2/3am, but the deal is really, really quick. I am not getting any real buzz or perhaps a real sweat from it because his dealing is so "instant" and I am sure you can relate to what I am saying.

I ask him to slow down, because I am not getting the sweat and I see him going no slower. I ask him again and he replies "how slow do you want me to go" and then sarcastically goes really slow. Of course I don't want him to go this slow, just want him not to go at an "instant" pace so I can "keep up". I admire and apprecaite he is good at his job, but it doesn't take a lot to slow down really?

So for those that are regs at BJ, what do you think with regards to dealer and speed? I am just trying to get that buzz/sweat, which I can't when they are at such a pace.

Moving on...

Sports betting.

I like sports, but some I just don't get the thrill out of. I enjoy and follow the tips on Tikay's tip thread (amazing thread) and I have bet on corners, cards and so on and I just again, don't get the buzz from it, feels weird on betting on something like cards and corners?

Do you get the same feeling on betting on something different?

PS - I am totally going to start a website for my own blog, ha.

It's not easy to just 'slow down', though, to be fair.

If you've been dealing blackjack for any prolonged period of time, you've reached a personal zone where all motions are fluid and comfortable. It's robotic.

It's akin to asking a professional footballer to play really crap today. He is either going to play like he always does or make an exaggerated effort at being crap. He doesn't have a switch that goes from 'good' to 'bad'.

I am sure there are better ways of delivering an analogy, but yeah, blackjack is a fast dealt game and the thrill of the game is the psychology of it more than sweating each individual hand.

I also don't like blackjack dealers who are too fast. Not because I want a sweat particularly but because I want time to breath. If i'm the only player at the table and I get a super fast dealer who has no interest in being sociable then i'll play a hand or two and leave the table.

Much better when you can have a chat and play the game at a slower pace.

That said, if it's a busy table give me super fast robot dealer.

Italian footballers are able to do this depending on the result required

There is a massive dogging place at a woods near a place called Chicksands in Bedfordshire. (I'm at work so can't really google it)

Me and my mate went one night for a laugh, we pull up in his Astra and he tells me he knows the signals.. So we sit in the dark for a bit, he then flashes the interior light on and off a few times, next thing we see some random guy strolling upto the window! Didn't look long enough to see if he had his cock in his hand, just did a massive wheel spin and got the hell outta dodge. A few months later they put a burger van in that bid of the woods, was there every night.  :D
