WHO AM I?

My name is Patrick Leonard and I am currently an employee and coach for PokerStrategy.com and ProStaker.com where I coach S/MSNL players from all around the world.

I currently play mid stakes on the Micorgaming network and have been one of the biggest winners there in 2012.

I can get a larger sample if needs be, but here is a recent 50k+ sample that i posted from my blog

I have played a lot of live poker over the last 5 years including playing solely live cash for 18 months. I have played a huge amount in Spain and played alot against Spanish players. I have also played alot when I went to Vegas last year.

I also won a WPT side event in Marbella which whilst didn't do huge wonders for the bank balance really made me feel good and confident in my live play.

Those who know me know that I will give each tournament 100% and won't be out drinking the night before.

I live in Spain so will make the short 1 hour flight there and spend 2 weeks playing the schedule.

I have huge motivation to drive me to success and see this tournament as both a shot for myself and hugely +ev.

I recently took final table coaching from a German pro and we went over hand histories about how to play when deep in tournaments. I understand ICM very well and believe my short stack play has come on an absolute tonne in the last 6 months.

ESPT 15/08/2012

Spains version of the UKIPT. The event is in Barcelona, I have some Spanish friends and they are saying its going to be similar to the UKIPT Nottingham with hundreds of satalite qualifiers and beyond awful players. I made a video of how to adjust vs different live players and think my edge in this particular tournament will be huge.

EPT Barcelona: 20/8/2012

EPT Barcelona is one of the most recognised legs on the stop. Not only is it known for alot of poker players getting robbed or pick-pocketed but its known to bring alot of soft local players who are happy to flick it in and have a good time. I have numerous Spanish friends and have spoken to players who play the tour reguarly who tell me that there is huge value here.

I believe that I have an egde in this tournament due to the amazing structure and what I consider to be great fundamentals. I am in a rich vein of form and I am looking to carry this on to the live arena as I will be missing Vegas due to personal reasons.

After speaking to players who play the tour, players who play with me daily and taking into great consideration the market value and how much people are asking for for other tournaments I have decided to give this package a 1.25 markup which is both good for me but still represents value for the buyer and I believe to be a great investment

There are two seperate side events a 1k 6max and 1k hu, if I play any of these two tournaments (I dont intend to) then I will 100% offer %s to investors.

I have decided to go for a non auction method here.

4 - Main Event Structure - We have adjusted the clock for the EPT Main Event for Season 9. In previous seasons it was 60 minutes for Day 1 and 75 minutes afterwards. We have made the change for Level's 1 -14 (essentially Day 1 and 2) to now be 75 minutes and Level 15+ to be 90 minutes. Day 1's should now all play Level 1 - 8 with a dinner break. Assuming a 12pm start, there will be 10 hours of play (8*75), a 90 minute dinner break and two 20 minute breaks (every two levels on Day 1 only) and we should wrap sometime between midnight and 1am. Day 2 should play the way it has played in previous seasons, six 75 minute levels with a 15 minute break after each level, no dinner break, end around 20:45. Day 3+ should have five 90 minute levels with a 15 minute break after each level, no dinner break, end around 20:45.

Elusive 10k post here will be in here. Thought about making a huge post about strategy or a big blog about last 10k
Posts and maturing etc but what I can say is that I came too blonde and wasn't really hugely winning player
And years later I'm head of the biggest poker school In the world, consider myself to be one of the better players at MSNL and about to play my first EPT

Definitely have tried to give a lot out to fellow blondes but have taken in a lot of love/advice and consider to have net some real friend here. Hopefully I can do a huge bink for y'all and give more than a few nice words.

I'm signed up to all of the events from stars client so no need to worry there and have full receipts.

I've been studying a little about transitioning from online MTTs to live MTTs and looking forward to playing in the three events. I've played huge amount over last 3 months and really think webcam give this a good shot. Obv lolvariance in MTTs, but will Give it our best.

I updated spreadsheet without frasers 10 and Marc's 2.5 percentiles meaning I have sold 40pc of myself.

Will update at the end of each tournament with a full report but for more regular updates will e posting on twitter.

Busted unfortunately. Lost ak v j7s aip. Grinded back a lot and got to 10k. Had to fold jacks to a skandi  pre which really sucked. Ended up busting in really std hand. Will write full report tonight/tomorrow.

Two more comps left. 2k on sat and 5k next week.

Don't fuck about with these bowl comps anyway, just win the 5k!

Trip report

This is coming off iPhone so potentially lots of typos.

We start really well making some pretty standard stations to get upto 20k. We were playing 8 handed and apart from one v good skandi wte rest are old and Spanish and generally play very bad.

Here is note I made from the tourny. Some may not like my line but think its pretty std.

Open co w/a9cc to 275. Cbet 225 on 982cxx he c/r to 525 we call
Turn is 3 he bets 1200 we tank call
River is queen e bets 2750 we. Call

He had aa so we dropped to starting stack again.

We raise jj and get c/r on 976 and decide to fold and he showed kk.

Table had no 3bets really and no 4bets. Italian team pro sits down, opens first 7 pots then cold called 3 3bets and showed down k2s in one of then. He also called a raise for 200 or something then when the guy cbet 3.1k miso neon the pro snapped in less than 5secpnda with 88 on k23

We open co with 88 call the tight guy from bbs 3bet and flop jj8.

He cbets 1.1 we go 3.1 he goes 7 and we decide to flat to stop any hero folds. Turn is j and we fold to his 5k bet.

Skandi bumps up aggression as controls the table with next interesting hand.

Tight utg 300, splashy Irish guy 650, skandi utg+2 1650. We have jj and 8kish and decide to fold.

After dinner we 4bet fold vs the Italian guy who 5bets.

Very next hand skandi 400 utg, Italian peel mp, we go 1350 from co planning to get it in with aqss.

Skandi folds, Italian snap peels. Flop is a105csd he checks, I decide to go for 725 to induce some spew.
He snaps really quick. Turn is 6c I look at h cards then overran 5.1k into 4.5 ish. He calls any ax and probably 10x as well. But on this occasion e had 55 and I was drawing dead.

Today is cappe at 200 so still really nice prize pool and potentially manageable.
Just had spa day with friend and first ever massage. There was one female and one male masseur and I managed to not in bad, hopefully that's an indication of some run good for today although morale was damaged by the pickpocket guys.

Registered for tomorrows EPT, all the sats went in and its sold out now. Players party with stars at best club in Barca and free drinks etc but came home for early night.

Ok so yesterday we got up early after early night in. Had spa/massage and it there high in morale.

First table was brilliant. 2 aggro Germans but 6 old fish and felt comfy. We dropped to 13k pretty quickly from the 15k starting. Slow playing 44 on j48ss and luckily getting 7s 9s for 88 to slow way down. #dodgingbullets

Only one interesting hand from first 3 levels. Utg puts in a bb as he thinks he's be. Folds to me on btn and I mob raise. German from an understands what happened and 3bets and we peel 78cc. Thoughts? It wa 50/109 we go 200 he goes 700 with 13k effective. I just folded post flop.

Get moved to a much aggro table nearly every hand is 3/4 bet. We play standard and chip back up score very last hand of the break.

Utg who was v good yet super aggro reg makes it 600 utg. We peek ajss from the big.

J102r we c/call. Turn is 4 and we c/call river is 10 and we call think 1/3 bet. We fold here? Close I think.

Anyway guy now has 80k on my right and mon raising 85% of hands. We 3bet him 3times in 6 orbits or so and ten at 200/400 we go 1800 over his 800 open and call/lose vs his k9hh.  Made a good adjustment and 59bigs would have been grand or this structure.

Im in casino already for the main. Getting drink and some food. Looking forward to starting. In I. Table 4 seat 6 photo on twitter of my receipt. Would be grateful if anyone got a table draw from somewhere for me.

Out of the group of 5 of us, 4 of us have gone home. Abs joke casino/city/run bad for all of us.

Will do tr when I've woken up properly, but gutted is definitely not enough to describe it, I felt like I was going to have probably one of the top 5 weeks of my life and prepared amazingly for it and left the city 4 days early and beyond disappointed. Poker wise I basically made the second best hand all week, managed to lose a9 v k9, aa v aa.

Sorry for not writing anything, just been massively demoralised after the trip. I've played less than an hour online and just been really in a bad mood, and of course being home with family for the first time in 20 months has been nice.

It's pretty weird, but because of how intense the last 2 tournaments were I can't even remember what happened in the ESPT.

Ah yes. We lost most of our stack with 88 on jj8, it was a 3bet pot and we go berzerk on the flop, i leave him a 1/2 pot sized bet on the turn and it comes a J and I fold to his 1/4 pot bet which really sucked :)

I kept composure and folded JJ to a skandi pre with less than 40bbs so definitely was in the zone and not trying to spew etc.

I eventually busted after losing AK < j7s before a hand w

Tournament 2

Again, coolered early with 44v77 on j74, chipped up etc, eventually 5b folded AQs pre flop in a really weird spot. We later 3bet called A9 vs his K9 hj v btn and he turned a kind which really sucked as it was for 50bbs which was plenty in this comp.

Lots of semi iunteresting hands where I either had to value cut myself in standard spots or got coolered, one potential hand I could get away from. http://blondepoker.com/forum/index.php?topic=58796.0

Blonde seems to think I should fold, 2p2 seemed to say call by the end of the discussions, think tis really close.

Lost a big chunk of stack with AA < AA which really sucked.


Basically for the whole week I continued to make second best hand after second best hand, so many marginal spots which I just couldn't do anything different. I played tight for most of the week and to be honest just got no real momentumn going or when I did quickly got coolered.

From a personal point of view, I took a big chunk of my holidays from work, meaning I couldn't go away with my girlfriend on holiday, I prepared massively, I planned to meet some of my good friends from around the world and we all stayed together. 2 of us were robbed and others had such a bad time with all the trouble we encountered.

I spent over 6 hours in cues waiting to get into tournaments which is just so unacceptable.

Sorry again guys and I'm happy to say I tried my best and wouldn't change much. Probably call queens now tho :D
