Title: omaha live tourny Post by: rbolt2 on June 27, 2012, 11:30:04 PM playing the £30 at luton g casino. I have a really tight image havign barely played any hands. Blinds 150- 300. I have 11k. 8 handed, the villian in teh hand has been playing pretty aggressively and has show down tptk after calling/ betting two streets.
Ahrt 6h 7h 8d dealt to hero utg Hero raises to 1,000, Villian 3 calls 2 seats along, everyone else folds Flop: 6s 7c Qs hero bets 1200, villian calls Turn: Jc hero checks, villian bets 3k hero jams all in for the remaining 8ishk Im pretty sure my pre flop is not good utg, sizing could be smaller and similar to what I would make it if I were playing hold em? What do people think about the turn, im fairly sure he is betting one pair hands here. Title: Re: omaha live tourny Post by: SuuPRlim on June 27, 2012, 11:58:33 PM pre is ok
turn is a slam dunk check fold, you're jamming for value? this is no way even close to a value jam and he is NOT bet/folding this turn much near 1% of the time, and when we get it in, we're toasted. Expect to see QJ most of the time, or if we;re lucky Kc Jd Tc 8d only 20 outs to dodge. Title: Re: omaha live tourny Post by: Honeybadger on June 28, 2012, 12:27:27 AM Agree with Lil'Dave completely; this is such an easy c/f on the turn. Bet/folding would be the next best alternative, and could be almost ok if opponent is extremely passive and straightforward.
Pre is whatever... folding probably just as good as raising. Title: Re: omaha live tourny Post by: SuuPRlim on June 28, 2012, 12:59:20 AM if we had a gut shot or a blocker or something Id like bet/folding a lot.

Title: Re: omaha live tourny Post by: JK on June 28, 2012, 09:41:31 AM Call me a nit but I fold pre ainec.
Agree with all else said tho Title: Re: omaha live tourny Post by: Honeybadger on June 28, 2012, 11:45:07 AM Call me a nit but I fold pre ainec. Surely it has to be fairly close? Make the 7h the 7d and you're not folding, right? So if that one tiny change can make a difference, it has to be defined as 'close'. Still, upon reflection I agree with you that folding is usually marginally better than opening. But - seeing as it is close - it would be an open if, for example, the table is playing very tight, or perhaps if you have a huge postflop skill edge on the table. On the other hand, if you are not competent and confident postflop then this should definitely be a fold. For example, OP ballsed this hand up completely on the turn which would suggest that whilst he is learning to play postflop better he should stick to mainly quality big card hands in EP since these play much easier (e.g. when you flop two pair with broadway cards it is less likely that you will make a mistake). Preflop play should always be connected to postflop play. Title: Re: omaha live tourny Post by: JK on June 28, 2012, 01:01:08 PM Your right tbh. Obv never folding with 7d but I think for me its a comfort thing as you said
