Based on my very limited second hand knowledge of him he seems like the type who has an A game and an E game and not a lot inbetween. But his A game is stellar. Might be totally off the mark there though. Amazing he has got such a good record in this event, would have thought the experts would pick him off in the technical games. No. He's a David Williams-esque type player. Technically does loads of bad stuff. Would have people licking their lips in cash games but in tournaments has big balls and knows how to win. Title: Re: Double Funk in the Players Championship Post by: SuuPRlim on June 28, 2012, 06:30:13 PM Cos is right, experience and fearlessness are pretty formidable tools in big field tournaments, so he fully deserves credit his results are excellent there. I'm just way surprised that he has had 2/3 deep runs in this tournament where you'd expect him to be ripped apart cos the games are technical and the field is very, very strong.
As far as cash games go he's a huge spot, I've played several thousand hands vs him and the mid-high stakes games on FTP used to basically run around him Title: Re: Double Funk in the Players Championship Post by: paulhouk03 on June 28, 2012, 06:37:07 PM i wish i knew a mizrachi

This was his third WSOP Bracelet in 3 years, and 2 WPTs too His seventh seven figure score He immediately registered for the $1m buy-in One drop event. So that's a spin up, then. Title: Re: Double Funk in the Players Championship Post by: smashedagain on June 29, 2012, 08:43:28 AM Incredible. Hope he has paid off everything he owes out and does cash in the one drop.

Title: Re: Double Funk in the Players Championship Post by: SuuPRlim on June 29, 2012, 11:24:52 PM Patrick doesn't stake him, he had 50% of him in the Series he won the 50k and finaled the main but PA didn't have any of the main event action (he also had 50% of his brother's series as well and he FT'd the 50k). I have no idea who put him in this.

Mercier sold at 1.1 (which has to be terrific value) I didn't hear of anyone selling at any higher than that. Remember there is 11% rake so mericer at 1.1 you pay basically $110,00 for 10% which its neutral value would be $89k works out something like 1.23 or w/e which is actually still pretty decent I think - if you did buy $110,000 wirth of action as a US player you'd be able to write $11,000 off your tax which gives you about $3600 "rakeback" if you like, so I'm not surprised a lot of people have managed to raise the buy-in. It'll actually be a great tournament I think Whereas the mouth has a decent point, of the 6 places likely to be paid with a prizepool of ~$42.8m after the rake it's actually quite unlikely that there won't be at least 4 pro's in the money places, obviously it depends who finishes where but I think the field will be split something like 70/30 pro/recreational money its going to be very difficult for the pro community to lose much of there investment, so I wouldn't worry. Most people, like myself for e.g have $0 invested in this tournament, I will ofc still be broke by the end of the summer, but won't be because of this tournament :D Title: Re: Double Funk in the Players Championship Post by: smashedagain on June 30, 2012, 09:29:11 AM Sorry to confuse. Did not mean selling for the one drop I meant in general. Before I just thought if guys could get it then why not let em charge it. Losing $14 mill out of the poker economy is obv bad when they are unlikely to re invest it by playing a load more or by backing and lending to other poker players. It made me think about Daves argument that if you are making bad investments at 1.5 etc you are going to lose money and eventually busto
