Ah ok.. just tried BBC and get the same thing. Are you with BT internet? Sounds like an app called "NetAssistant" or "Simppull". Both are distributed by Freeze.com. You should be able to remove those through the Control Panel's uninstaller (Add/Remove Programs in XP or Uninstall a Program in Vista & Win7). Sometimes when you install a legitimate application a smaller toolbar or other ad is included in it (for ££ advertising/PPC obv). Have a look in add/remove programs (progams and features for Vista/Win7) and see if you can see any of the applications above if so uninstall them. It doesn't sound malicious although there are browser hijacking viruses which send any internet traffic to compromised sites, whilst similar i dont think this is whats happened in your case. |
