No, that's true, thought it might be relevant in some way though. Title: Re: South American countries it's legal to play online poker in? It's 'grey' in all those countries, much as it used to be in the US/Europe. They all have a gambling culture with large land based casinos (I went there for a couple of months last year). My guess is the other two would be the same. Title: Re: South American countries it's legal to play online poker in? Title: Re: South American countries it's legal to play online poker in? Post by: Longy on July 13, 2012, 01:12:31 PM My guess would be all of them. What I would do is open a micromillions donkament in the stars lobby and play find that country.
Title: Re: South American countries it's legal to play online poker in? Post by: Longy on July 13, 2012, 01:16:03 PM Looking at the scoop microsite, with stats by country. Argentina, Colombia and Chile feature in the lists, so people definitely are playing on stars from those countries.
Edit just remembered there is a prominent poster on 2p2 who is an ex-pat living in peru who plays online for a living. So just need Ecuador now! Title: Re: South American countries it's legal to play online poker in? Post by: Simon Galloway on July 13, 2012, 07:37:19 PM Kind of moot, as I'm not currently in a position to entertain doing it. And I haven't lived elsewhere with or without an ex-pat community, so I don't know how vital/supportive that is.
I'd love to do a tour of these countries, but I definitely wouldn't be heading for ex-pat-ville. The quicker and more able I was to become integrated into the local area, the more I imagine I would like it. Title: Re: South American countries it's legal to play online poker in? The support and help of people who come from the places you do is huge in countries outside of Europe / USA etc. When I say big community, there's probably only around 50 or so but it's still awesome to have for many reasons and doesn't stop you from emmersing into local society. Post by: jgcblack on July 14, 2012, 03:02:30 AM Say one was to take a laptop on a plane and log on to pokerstars, in which of the following countries could you legally play in? 1) Columbia - no idea 2) Ecuador - confirmed! club 'jokers' is evidenced in my blog 3) Peru - unsure believe yes 4) Chile - no idea 5) Argentina - believe yes Brazil - negative. First hand knowledge mate, however South America is awesome so meh to the countries without pokers... :P look up LAPT stops imo. Horses for courses, but for me, my pre-conceived expectation is that with a solid ex-pat community around me, it would slow down my immersion considerably.
