Title: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: Steve Swift on July 25, 2012, 11:56:55 AM Hi Guys,
Strange one i guess but i after trying to sort out my lack of Multi tabling skills and wondered if any Blonde member might allow me to rail them either via Mikogo/Teamview or the like or in fact travel to them to rail which would obv be the nuts. To improve i know i need to play more tables but truthfully any more than 2/3 and i am up shit creek which i know is ludicrous given the amount of time i have been playing. I am obviously doing something wrong hence my desire to watch some one in action. I did have a guy that used to let me rail him from the US but he is not on any more, he played 12/16 tables and it looked to me like a button clicking frenzy which is mental because when i spoke to him about certain spots he spoke with confidence about reads and the like... i couldn't see how it was possible but he was a good bloke who was winning so i assume he was not full of it. I am a prolific railer, peeps like Mark wright, Chillin dude and the like and they always seem to have time on the ball. I have read up a lot on multi tabling, quick decisions, table ninja, HEM ect but its more the pace of the action that i can't keep up with, i feel that age is one issue ( i am about 100 compared to most of you ), skill obv, but i feel i should be able to play 6/8 tables with out clicking aimlessly in a blind panic. So guys any one up for it? I live in Gravesend and am willing to travel a couple of hrs if needs be? Happy to pay a little, buy a meal or the like. In the short term i am going to play some cheap tourneys to pract with more tables. Regards Steve Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: TL900 on July 25, 2012, 12:06:16 PM Multitabling low stakes online is all about having good fundamental poker knowledge/awareness. Along with the experience, i.e number of hands or number of tournaments. It just takes practice and you get used to it. I would suggest playing like 8 $2 180 mans or something to try and get used to it. You slowly build up knowledge and similarities between certain situations and this makes making the optimal decision a quicker process. I'm normally pretty happy for friends to mikogo/teamviewer me who know me/about my game, but I don't think you would get much out of watching me grind as you would think it was button mashing, otherwise I would offer. gl sir.

Just add one more table to your usual number and when you're comfortable with that, add another one and repeat. Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: smashedagain on July 25, 2012, 01:22:23 PM This is a real eye opener tho. I shared an apartment with some online geeky friends up in Edinburgh and watched one French kid playing 24 tables on a lap top. Learnt f@@k all except it's sad being French
Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: Steve Swift on July 25, 2012, 02:01:42 PM Thanks for all the replies guys, i guess watching some one live i can ask questions, French not so good so prob try to avoid that one.

Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: titaniumbean on July 25, 2012, 04:52:08 PM There are multiple reasons why some people are quicker than others
it helps to have add/attention span issues to watch as much of the screen as once helps to have played alot of computer games and be extremely accurate/quick with the mouse helps to have played tonnes and tonnes of the same situations so you know what you're doing instantly. practice makes perfect. How old are you? (I'd basically never expect anyone under 30 to have this problem) What computer/laptop do you use? Mouse/Touchpad etc? What site / sites do you play on? What games do you play? How good are you in general with computers? Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: Steve Swift on July 25, 2012, 05:24:28 PM Cool thanks Alex will PM you.

Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: smurf on July 25, 2012, 06:00:33 PM i probably swim against the tide but the thought of playing any more than 2 or 3 tables at once (especially 20 odd) seems to border on the obsessive side...never forget we all want to win at poker but you will only ever feel good about your game if you can enjoy it...and playing that many tables there can be no enjoyment surely.
don't even go there...leave it to the crazy fools who will tell you they win all the time. when ever i have seen someone timing out constantly or shoving every big hand they are normally playing lots at once...shove fest. Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: parker on July 25, 2012, 06:31:16 PM I learned to mt from watching someone else. made a difference to me!
I say dont panic! you always have more time than you think you do. Fold as soon as you know its a fold and move onto the next one. If youre playing micros comps and sngs on stars you should think about table ninja. takes away a lot of the legwork. Opens tables for you and even prepares an expected bet size. Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: Longy on July 25, 2012, 06:39:03 PM Playing lots of tables just takes practice and experience, it is not something that can be taught per se.
The majority of people just learn from gradually adding 1 or 2 tables at a time, but most importantly you should be able make accurate, solid decisions quickly. To be able to do this you have to work on your game and gain experience of common situations. Everyone has different thresholds and you will eventually reach a point where you simply can't process the information quickly enough to come to the right conclusion. Without wishing to be offensive, at your age that is going to be more difficult than someone in their late teens/early 20's. The brain simply doesn't work as quickly the older you get. I know some of the younger people on here, would outperfom me in this respect. There are various software than can help you out here, the most obvious being table ninja. What software do you use? You've studied, learnt and progressed to get to the level you have achieved and it's all second nature to you. Steve admits to struggling to multi table but willing to have someone help him improve. If you can start with one of the best all the better so it's good he has your offer. It was a wee bit ribbing as Steve and I railed each other at times through the MM series. Post by: Steve Swift on July 25, 2012, 10:46:43 PM Thank you all again guys for the pointers. I don't think i want to mass MT as i quite frankly don't enjoy the button clicking, maybe i should get comfortable at 4 with an aim of getting to 8. If i am not enjoying it i will play only to a point i am.

Most, if not all of the people that are playing 20+ tables are doing so to make a living so there isn't much consideration to the enjoyment factor. I'd be very suprised if I can still play 20+ tables when I'm 50+, FML when I have to get a real job :( As said just keep adding 1-2 when you get comfortable playing the current amount, if you're just looking to play as a hobby though I don't think you should be looking to play 10+ tables anyway as that will soon take most of the fun out of it. Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Post by: railtard1 on July 26, 2012, 01:12:44 AM agree with mondatoo above.
Its about finding your own personal niche. I enjoy mass tabling and after 6/7 hours of play i might have 4 or 5 stacks to concentrate on. Others might only play 10 comps a night but can put more concentration into them. Maybe add 2 tables per session untill you reach the point of struggle. As i said, your welcome to teamview or screen share me and see what im doing if you feel it will benefit you. Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ?? Yes i play for fun but who doesn't like to win a few $$$ ask the wife who has a new fridge freezer thanks to pokerstars and the Sunday storm. ( That purchase probably sums me up to a T ) I do have a proper full time job, but one of the advantages of this time of life is most of my real life situations are in order, good job, stable life, kids left home, lovely Grand kids etc, so i do have lots of free time and i chose to spend some of it on poker. But i do try to work at it and keep up with changes and know i should be better than i am, hence trying to up the MT a little. I enjoy this community and the help it gives to all, thanks again and keep up the good work. Steve Title: Re: Can i watch you Multi table online live ??
