Was doing a ton+ on an empty motorway and a copper shot up behind me and pulled me. Slapped my wrists and let me off with a warning. I run good :D Title: Re: Clean driving licence Post by: celtic on August 02, 2012, 11:48:09 AM Sigh, woulda be been so much funnier if you got points.

By time he'd caught upto me I was slowing down for the exit slip. Also I was the only car on the motorway at the time. they paid through the nose for a lawyer who found a loophole in court. because the police lost sight of the car between first sight and stopping them they couldnt prove who was driving haha Title: Re: Clean driving licence Post by: SirPerceval on August 03, 2012, 09:36:20 AM I've heard numerous stories about innocent people being killed because of idiots who think the police are the stupid ones.

I used to have reasonably powerful cars too, so used to try and beat record times between home and London etc. I soon wound my neck in when I managed to land myself a nice 6month ban for totting up, the thing was I was lucky to only get the TT99 and 6 months. I already had 9 points, then received no less than 4 tickets through the post early 2007 from the summer of 06. Didn't go down too well when I went to court that's for sure, even less so when I requested to keep my license as I travelled around the country playing poker and to lose it would be inconvenient :D Nowadays I'll often creep over 70, but can't remember the last time I went much over 80mph and it definitely saves on the fuel bills too :) Title: Re: Clean driving licence Post by: mouth on August 17, 2012, 10:55:45 PM I celebrated even more than you Girgy on July 30th. That was the six month deadline after I was stopped for a couple of driving offences on January 30th. One offence was 6 -8 points and I already had 9 when I was pulled so,I knew I would be banned.
Two months later when I still hadn't got a court summons I checked out the legal time limit ( posted a thread on here as well asking if anyone knew) and found out it was six months. Times up, no summons, 3 of my points have gone off during this period so now down to 6. Not particularly proud of it or anything, but still happy I didn't lose my licence. Thing is I got so used to not having a car now that I'm not sure if I will bother. Figured if I do get another one I'm only delaying the inevitable as I'm not a slow driver, so probably safer for me and everyone else if I stick with public transport. |
