And finally, in case the young man who started the thread thinks we have gone a little off topic, here is the subject of his thread.

Just a personal opinion, of course, but in my view, far & away the worst run & managed Licensed Poker Venue in the UK it has been my misfortune to visit, though I am sure it has improved since I last visited, and if they are to host a UKIPT, I wish them well.

The cardroom is on the 2nd floor, accessed by a tiny lift. It's a Schindler Lift, incidentally, or that's what my records have it List-ed as.

For those coming to Bristol that want to book the IBIS next door to Casino rates are currently £45 per night. UKIPT site quoting £67. This hotel will sell out so if you want somewhere close to crash out this is the one I would recommend.

Hi all,

All going well here so far and great to add a new stop for the UKIPT.

- I've heard Tikka Flame very highly recommended from a few locals, will be going there tonight.

- If you park in the Britannia car park (underneath casino) then the casino will validate your parking ticket for free

- Party, we will be having a few beers on Saturday night for the UKIPT party at the Shore Bar (just over the footbridge over the harbour). Free bar from 8pm-10pm, collect your wrist band from the PS Welcome desk to get in!

- Day 1B is looking really really busy as you would expect. We will have a few DBI spots on PS or you can still buy-in via Gala over the phone or at the cash desk. Availability is limited but we will run alternates etc if required.

Cheers,

Jamie

I actually have no idea, the satellites on Friday and Saturday usually produce a few seats and it seems to very much depend on who is still in the main event/fancies a punt.

As I think I mentioned in the UKIPT feedback thread we are looking at ways of tweaking and making more of a success of this tourney for future events/seasons.

I've heard really good things about how the Management have got this Venue up to speed. Congrats to them, & I hope the week is a roaring success - I'm sure it will be, from what I am told.

Hopefully see the SKY crew back in the South West soon ;)

Don't really like the trend towards Monday finals, not that i have been anywhere near a final for 2 years.

It's a killer.

I was supposed to be playing this, but after stupidly sleeping outside on one of coldest days of the year & costs that was spiraling out of control, decided against.

3 days is also a nightmare, so not sure what changes they can make, not ideal to take extra days off.
