Title: Cash games Post by: Gizsumcash on August 10, 2012, 04:17:00 PM Hi all,
First proper post apart from my profile questions. I normally play the £25 freezouts at dusk till dawn but tonight the other half is off work so I have to find a venue for tomorrow night instead. The £50 turbo sounds tempting tomorrow night but I think im going to play the cash games at DTD. It will only be the 0.5/1 due to my bankroll being low but i was wondering if £50 pounds for the cash games would be enough or a waste of time? Cheers Title: Re: Cash games Post by: Cf on August 10, 2012, 04:19:42 PM It's 50 big blinds which sounds a lot in a tournament sense but in a cash game you can burn through that quite quickly. The converse is also true though: you can spin it up quickly too.
So it's not a waste of time as such, but if you run bad then £50 could last you not very long. Title: Re: Cash games Post by: Gizsumcash on August 10, 2012, 04:48:52 PM Cheers. Ill have a go, normally just play online cash games but i need to get out the house.

Title: Re: Cash games Post by: CHIPPYMAN on August 10, 2012, 04:56:35 PM Stakes to low for rastafish i assume lol That's the stake he played all the time. He seldom play 50/1, bcause it's easy money on the 50/1 with all the fishes swimming around the Dtd club . Try sit down with £100 ( max for 50/1 ) Title: Re: Cash games Post by: Gizsumcash on August 10, 2012, 04:58:41 PM Cheers for the advice mate
Title: Re: Cash games Post by: shipitonetime on August 10, 2012, 06:23:38 PM Play on pokerstars. Your money will go a bit further online and the .50/1 games are pretty good i hear....

Cheers I know you need to get out of the house but playing online is the better bet for someone with a low bankroll. There are cash games much lower than .50/1 where you can have 100 bigs with less money. If you are thinking of buying in for £50 on a .5/1 that tells me that figure is at a push, you'd prefer to risk less but you'd rather not have less than 50 big blinds. It feels to me like if you lost five bullets if you could tolerate that, you wouldn't be able to or would be scared to reach for more. IMO in NL Holdem you need to be able to tolerate big swings because on any given day you can play perfectly and lose five bullets no problem. Officially I should welcome you to our live cash games. But IMO check out our online site's lower stakes cash as a priority. I can tell you from experience, failing some serious luckboxing, if you play above your roll you will eventually lose it all, and without money there is no poker for you. Remember: From tiny acorns great oaks grow. Title: Re: Cash games Post by: Sulphur man on August 13, 2012, 04:02:03 AM Playing live cash for the first time can/will be daunting and most enjoyable no doubt. Some good solid advice given here
and i totally agree that you should hone your skills online and stick to playing live Comps until you feel comfortable playing cash. You will know when you begin to improve at online cash as you wont go bust so easy, i would say once you get to that point then play live cash, nothing wrong with buying in for 40/50bbs while you learn and plenty of great articles online on how to play shortstack cash games. Best of luck. Title: Re: Cash games Post by: Gizsumcash on August 13, 2012, 11:58:27 AM Thanks for the replies, i decided to play the £15 freezout instead as i didnt realise they were doing one. Saved me from losing my weekly bankroll straight away i suppose and it got me out the house. I do play online but i get distracted easily, but when im playing live im 100% dedicated to the poker. Maybe im playing it online in the wrong environment.
