Yeah it's all cool. I can just about hit mark as read on pha threads but can't do it in the rail/ lounge etc... I even have to read all the betting/gambling /fantasy league threads and I early if ever place a bet.  It's a bit of a sad reflection on me but it's like an addiction. I know I will be awake at 6.30 with thE kids but can't put my bloody phone down ffs

i try :) i feel i would be much more present in geenral on blonde if i could use the marketplace. I know a lot of the people here so it makes sense to get through the numbing boredom and just get to 300 in the quickest |(and most productive if you are watching mods) way possible

Yes I do agree Lee. I have had the odd warrior spat with Karl Fenton over stuff like make up and variance etc which was born out of my ignorance more than anything. But I know Karl is a decent chap and putting him back to zero seems harsh. I can only think that maybe Vinny had done it as a joke. I know people outside of poker who play pool that speak highly of him and if my mates say he is a good egg then that's fine with me.

If starting this thread has brought heat down on Karl then I do appologise but it was pretty obv what was going on last night. As some consultation Karl, I did get 2 pm's asking who your were and these were guys with stables so hopefully one of em might be interested in giving you a trial.

Yea back to zero has to be a level. Tonnes of people have openly done it in the past and not been penalised without adding anywhere near as much. It is tilting to have to wade through the posts but it has to be done really.

Yeah for sure this was my idea. Sorry if it seems as shit stirring/ trolling on my part here but I genuinely could not read Karl's posts as quick as he was writing them and wanted to get some sleep.

You have to get off on the right foot. A lot of the people stake on here not on ROI but for other reasons too. Posting naked pictures of mums or girl friends always goes down well

I made a pretty good comeback Charles. Banned twice in the same year and still made the advent calendar. I do spend to much time on here but it's pretty addictive.

Karl, you've got the chicken and egg thing the wrong way round.

Stop thinking about selling the pieces and contribute on here just like anyone else who doesn't have a prospective staking request in the pipeline.

Once you get to 300 posts, then (and really, only then) should the thought of maybe asking for staking come up. That's the way round it's supposed to be.

The 300 posts is an arbitrary limit, but it's there as a line in the sand to protect against people not entering into the spirit of the intention behind the limit.

Karl is known to people on here - so what? We're not preventing him asking the people he knows to stake him directly. By putting the staking request on here he would be specifically advertising to the people who don't know him.

Now, essentially, Karl has already got what he wants as everyone knows he has a staking request out there (and the thread on 2+2 has been linked) so anyone who does want to stake him can easily do so.

i do actually agree with the bolded part completely. you are right that it should be about becoming part of the community and then taking up the option of buying/selling. I guess i wrongly assumed (assuming is always bad anyways) that being part of the british community and this being the major british poker forum that becoming part of the forum in a way that allowed the buuying or selling of peices would be relatively arbitrary. I apologise for being wrong about that.

So the mods are not here to mod the staking board for quality, we use the 300 posts figure as the method and therefore there is no come back on the mods etc. fine ok.

Yet the mods are deciding that this what I will only describe as a 'known account' is getting heavy handed modding for the sake of it or to prove that there is a rule? Even though if a new acc comes posts 300 amazing posts then puts up a thread for w/e staking there is nothing to make people expect they will be trustworthy and no come back on the mods.

i don't think it is to do with the quality for the posts, its more to do with the principle of attempting to get 300 posts to make a staking thread.

i dunno if its bc a few people know me (im sure this could come across as arrogant but that is not my intention) and the mods are trying to make a point that this isn't gonna be allowed period and can use a non random as an example of this.

i was given examples of people (no names) that had done similar to me (posted good posts got over the limit required and then posted their staking thread on the 307th post) and had no issues, and then another example of someone who just "+1, lol, sup" every post and got reprimanded..... i thought i was showing a bit of respect for the forum by trying to contribute as much as possible over the 300 posts that i would be making and will continue to do so after i reach the landmark 300.

Yeh I understand both ways, I just think with this being such a strong community and the fact that so many people know you just makes it a bit silly.

People have got to 300 and asked for staking straight away, that is correct....however not as far as I can recall by going from 50 to 300 in a night!

Anyway, as has been explained, no hard feelings here...I know you, lots of people know you and we'd love you to stick around and contribute. Sure you have a lot to offer.

The aim really is to try and be consistent and avoid precedents that make the staking board a more difficult thing to mod in the future, which anything circumventing 300 posts, or trying to shortcut the process, does.

Think you'll find posters who just use +1 and lol to get to 300 won't sell their action regardless of being allowed to post on the staking board or not.

Merely talking about someone trying to fast-track to 300 in a short period of time, and why that can be frowned upon/be a decent indicator of problems ahead.

(after all, the overall aim is a staking board that operates efficiently with a minimum risk of grimming in so far as we can control factors influencing that)

Just a couple of pearlers were that you paid an increased markup if you only wanted 5% instead of10% (this was on top of the mark up incorporated into the stake) and two of the comps were the same weekend and if he made day 2 Saturday in both then he would decide which one was offering the best roi and he would bin the other one off.... All sold out tho :)

thats fine to offer reduced matrkup for bigger purchases, but i wouldnt post it as"increased markup if you pay less, advertise it as "this is the markup (ie1.2), and if you buy more than 15% of the available action you can have it at 1.15..... has a much more positive sentiment

It was ~£1700 worth of events, and he was charging £250 for 10% and £135 for 5%. I had to look at it a few times before I realised what was happening as I thought it was £125 at first, then a typo, then I cottoned on...
