Title: The hand I just bust out of the 40k with... Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 16, 2006, 01:45:28 AM 12 People left, there are pretty much raises every hand by someone. Everyone is prepared to steal what they can, but can I get away from this?

Post by: RyG on January 16, 2006, 01:55:45 AM Id be tempted to fold here due to the fact that he's likely to call u if u play back at him due to his relatively large stack. As such your either in a cointoss or dominated by any pair. If u fold uve still got more than 10x the bb and id wait for a better spot personally

Not the worst move in the world, but I think his chunky raise of 15k tells you he's not messing around with 2-3. Also, if he's willing to stick 15k in, then he'll probably call your reraise with half decent hands. Unfortunately, a half decent hand was still better than yours. Basically, you're sticking it in with your best hope being a coin toss. I think you can afford to wait a little longer with that stack. Title: Re: The hand I just bust out of the 40k with... Post by: NoflopsHomer on January 16, 2006, 02:09:35 AM I think I knew after I moved all-in, and you guys are right, and I'm absolutely gutted now I look at how I played. I was just sick of my blinds being taken every turn, and not having a hand for ages. I'd scraped and stolen lots of chips, and it looks so stupid now. Gah.

Thanks tank for giving me these same sentiments yesterday after the cincins £100 bash, where after scrapping ducking and diving I joined the final table with 75k in chips, I managed to cripple myself in one hand with a brutal mistake raising with 97 in the small blind after everyone folded to me, and after having 3 7's exposed on the table. Half decent BB hand called me and dominated my 9 with a better kicker. I know what I was thinking, I thought I could just steal, but looking back it was an appalling play. He was low enough stacked to go all in with anything decent. That left me with a mere 30k and the blinds just going up to 16k. Title: Re: The hand I just bust out of the 40k with... Post by: snoopy1239 on January 16, 2006, 10:06:13 AM How did 3 sevens managed to be exposed?!
Title: Re: The hand I just bust out of the 40k with... Post by: mikkyT on January 16, 2006, 12:35:37 PM A 7 was exposed during the deal, and so a guy with a pair of sevens threw them in angrily and they exposed. Muggins here still attempted a steal in the small blind. Still, just needed an 8 for a split pot. Curses.

Post by: dan on January 16, 2006, 12:52:34 PM Yeah you can get away from it. i think his "chunky raise" looks like he doesnt want a call but saying that i think you should get away from it because you know he is likely to call and you dont want to be 50/50 at best hereNot the worst move in the world, but I think his chunky raise of 15k tells you he's not messing around with 2-3.
