Title: Question re staking Post by: blueace on September 13, 2012, 12:51:55 AM If you sell a piece of tournament action and pay out at a percentage, would the staker automatically recieve the same piece of action if part of your winnings was for another tournament? Or would this have to be pre-arranged before the tourn? Theoretical of course ;) thanks

Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: Doobs on September 13, 2012, 12:56:18 AM It should have been clear in your staking arrangement. If not, the default should be any additional prizes should be included. I don't see how it could be anything else.
Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: blueace on September 13, 2012, 01:00:00 AM ok thats a good start thanks for two contradicting answers!
Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: CHIPPYMAN on September 13, 2012, 01:43:35 AM Ok now Sean, if u r staked in every tourney u played , then the answer is "YES"
but if u only sold pieces of ur action on certain tourney , then the answer is NO.,. I think that's solved ur question . Wd with the win . Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: DMorgan on September 13, 2012, 01:59:04 AM If it was an automatic qualification eg. GUKPT > Champion of Champions freeroll or WPT > WPT Final then standard would be that the %age carries over to the tournament that you qualified for unless you specifically said otherwise.
With the golden chip being won separately though on your own dime thats somewhat different. Best option is to carry the %age over, take it as a lesson learned and specify next time imo. Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: Sulphur man on September 13, 2012, 02:54:52 AM My understanding was that a horse while staked that wins a seat/entry to a comp gets the value of the seat/entry from the backer
and plays the tournament as normal. Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: DMorgan on September 13, 2012, 04:30:36 AM My understanding was that a horse while staked that wins a seat/entry to a comp gets the value of the seat/entry from the backer and plays the tournament as normal. The backer would need to have a serious aversion to money to do this. Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: blueace on September 13, 2012, 08:02:28 AM Ok now Sean, if u r staked in every tourney u played , then the answer is "YES" but if u only sold pieces of ur action on certain tourney , then the answer is NO.,. I think that's solved ur question . Wd with the win . Thanks Frankie I'm liking this answer best tbf. Consensus is there is no straight answer, although if one had a straight % swap with a non gold chip holding player playing the same event then they deffo shouldn't have a piece I guess. My instinct tells me that if it's not pre arranged then it's not included. Have to re-stress the theoretical nature of this debate... If it's swapped u can the person/persons to FO ... Btw when u have the GC when u satelite it , does the staker give u the money to satelite ? If YES , he definitely have the right to ur GC. Talk to me at Dtd on Saturday if u there playing CL. :-) Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: blueace on September 13, 2012, 09:37:22 AM Ok now Sean, if u r staked in every tourney u played , then the answer is "YES" but if u only sold pieces of ur action on certain tourney , then the answer is NO.,. The backer would need to have a serious aversion to money to do this. Obviously they then play the comp as the backing deal was/is agreed ie 50/50 still with the makeup. The horse only gets the value of the seat which the backer would have purchased at any rate. Depends who your horses are if you have a serious aversion to money in my opinion. Remember a conversation about this very same thing a year or so back, this was the understanding from what was heard. Nut answer imo Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: stato_1 on September 13, 2012, 02:10:38 PM If i gather correctly and you're implying that the "swapped with someone without a golden chip" part is maybe not so theoretical, then it seems pretty clear to me that you don't owe the person any of ur package.

Title: Re: Question re staking Post by: Sulphur man on September 13, 2012, 02:42:44 PM Alternatively pm Mr Keys. I would do exactly what i assume you are doing though.
Get the opions of those with sound knowledge (Blondes) then speak with your backer and see what they think on the matter, at least you will be well informed beforehand. So thats that one sorted then, thanks. As regards the other one with the percentage staked, I feel a survey coming on. |
