Title: O/T Mark Philo RIP Post by: Mr F on January 16, 2006, 12:26:32 PM Many of you footie fans probably heard about this on the weekend. Wycombe Wanderers Midfielder Mark Philo died in a car accident on Saturday.
He was one of the most promising youngsters we've had at the club but had been plagued by injury since breaking into the squad two years ago under Tony Adams. I'm deeply saddened by this news as are all Chairboys fans. RIP Mark Title: Re: O/T Mark Philo RIP Post by: mikkyT on January 16, 2006, 12:31:05 PM That is sad news. Loosing anyone is a sad thing to have to go through, famous or not, and especially at such a young age as well. Im sure the fans will respect the minutes silence. RIP.

Title: Re: O/T Mark Philo RIP Post by: Mr F on January 25, 2006, 04:56:14 PM Went to the Barnet game on Saturday, the first game since he died. Lots of gutted people there.
There was a minutes silence and several Only one Mark Philo Chants during the game. Best moment was after one fo these the Barnet fans applauded and started There's only one Kevin Durham, (he played for both clubs back in the conference days) when that stopped we applauded back. Was actually nice to see fans being respectful to each other. Shame it has to take tragedy to make it happen. Title: Re: O/T Mark Philo RIP Post by: Mr F on May 30, 2006, 12:25:06 PM The inquest to this was last week.. It turns out that the promising young player, who everyone has been grieving overand getting upset for, was one and a half times over the limit, had drunk about 6 or 7 pints of lager and was cruising for somewhere else to go at 1 in the morning with two mates. He struck a grandmother who died instantly, she had been called by her daughter who was pregnant and had to go to hospital for an emergency, the grandmother was on the way to babysit.
Some people make me sick. Title: Re: O/T Mark Philo RIP Post by: Indestructable on June 01, 2006, 06:26:46 PM Does change the story somewhat. I can never understand someone deliberately drinking and driving. Such a waste of a life, especially given the opportunities that he had.
