Don't mind admitting I can't watch them.

I don't see the pleasure in sitting there and having the shit scared out of me for a couple of hours. And lets be honest, some of the horror films do scare the shit out of you  :o

What do you all reckon? Or am I just being a big pussy?   ;D

Not a fan, think the vast majority are pretty boring.

Ever since my dad made me watch an early warewolf film and combined with the dog jumping on my bed and howling at 3am on the same night. How I never shit myself I'll never know. I was 8 years old.
I hate horror films ever since.

Candy Man messed me up as a kid but nothing has come close to scaring me as much as Aracnaphobia did.

Will watch one if I'm with a fit bird but I'll secretly close my eyes during the scary bits so she doesn't know I'm petrified.

Child's play 2 was first horror I watched, when I was about 8/9 at my mates house...

Freaky looking dolls still scare the shit out of me.

Never letting my kids watch anything like that if I can help it.

American Werewolf in London freaked me out good and proper when I was very young.

Love it now because it's obviously just comedy but I couldn't watch it for years.

I think horror films when I was young were a lot easier to watch. They were just blood and gore. Modern horrors seem to fuck with your head and genuinely scare the shit out of you mentally.

LOL that was the first one I really watched and likewise it scared the shit outta me. Where I was brought up was in the middle of the countryside surrounded by fields. I can't tell you the amount of times I had to go outside at night in the pitch dark to take the dog for a walk or whatever and my mind started running wild and I thought I heard something n the bushes lol. It was all down to that fucking film!  >:(  ;D

I love spiders, and they don't scare me at all (unlike heights or clowns).

But when I watched Arachnophobia (pretty bad film, and not scary if you don't mind spiders) I then went to bed and woke up during the night looked up and there was one of the largest spiders I've ever seen in this country on the wall next to my bed.

I properly crapped myself, and then after 5 minutes or so I eventually got my heart back to where it belonged and could laugh about it.

What did you do with the spider Kin?

Nothing. Once I'd jumped across the room and then calmed down a bit I then went back to bed and left it where it was.

I first heard of a fear of clowns when we had bought a ceramic Poirot clown wall ornament. The brother in law (who is a big lad) came in and abso shit himself as he had same fear.

Am yet to see a horror film revolving around pogonophobia (the fear of beards). When it happens, I will watch.

Horror films give me a severe case of the willies but I still watch them (usually with the remote in my hand)

Love watching horror films, though gre wup on 'em as parents always watched them.
Funny as feck watching old horror movies as an adult, they are soo shite.

Much prefer the psychological horrors that are about now.

Talking of clowns my cousin watched IT as a kid and is still terrified of clowns now

Love horror films.  A lot are very derivative and quite disappointing but every now and again you find a cracker.  I think I've had a nightmare centred around every famous horror villain in film history.  Good times.

The problem with a lot of horror films is they concentrate on the gore or the set pieces, missing the point that to get genuine attachment to a horror film you need to care about the characters.  Classics of the genre like 'Night of the Living Dead' display a masterclass in how to do this.  Films like 'The Human Centipede' show how not to do it and just get obsessed with the supposed horror.

watch a horror film pretty much every time the gf comes round to my house as its the only film genre we agree on (her liking the more girlie genres - myself liking more action type of films...etc - so we compramise), ive actually grown to like the alot, probably my favourite kinds of films now (however as said previously - there are quite alot of absolute failures - but when you find a good one they are brilliant)

im abit weird on this, i cant be done with horror films such as scream, you know the gory ones, struggle to even watch stuff like holby city tbh, but im mad for any sort of 'zombie' film. also things such as '28 weeks later'. i think its the 'what if' factor that plays in the back of my mind that keeps me hooked.

'the walking dead' on FX (currently just started season 3) is pretty awsome as well imo

love horror films.. first one was evil dead i was about 11..although com now ... it abs scared shit out of me...and then watched it again obv.... not much gives me the willies tbh..a bit desensitised by watching loads... although paranormal activities gave me that chill up the back factor...

love zombie films and devil occult type..especially old hammer ones..devil rides out although not scary at all..i love...

like gory crap..saw etc...

But honestly what's the thrill in having the shit scared out of you? I go out of my way NOT to have the shit scared out of me  :D

Never enjoyed being scared, so generally avoid horror. I do love vampire and zombie stuff but I class that more as sci fi/fantasy stuff if anything.

Lol I just remember watching the exorcist through the hole in an old vinyl LP. I was about 11 yo at my cousins house with my brother and cousin who were both older than me and as I wanted to show I was a 'big boy' I didn't want to leave the room so I hid behind the LP.
