so ive been approached by a few ppl with regards to them staking me for live tournaments.........they kinda asked me what deal i would like etc....can anybody help out here with examples etc pls???

I'm pretty sure 50/50 is standard after makeup, but might depend on the volume you can put in etc

This I guess, but if it were me I would set out a plan and work out buyin expectations.. Make it super clear.

the deal they are offering is not as good as 50/50 and will be for a tournaments with £100+ plus buy ins and upto 1k comps and will prob play 3-4 a week

its very stnd to start off with a lower than 50% profit share. I know deals like 30/70 with MU until you've won a bit with the view to increasing share with profit.

yes the deal is very close to that which i think is very reasonable...one of my problems is i have been approached by a few ppl not just one do u think i should offer them to all join a syndicate type or just take a deal with a single staker ??

If you've got multiple offers just play them off against each other - get the best deal you can.

make sure you factor in realistic value of any help/ coaching/ commitment as you do this...

worst case would be to get the best money deal from someone who can't improve your game at all imo.

some ppl who have approached me do not play poker so u think its better to take a worse deal but from a player rather than someon who has no idea of the game ?? deals r all roughly 65/35 to 75/25 with mu and i approximate 20 comps a month

Trust me you'll find it way way better being staked by someone who is experienced in poker.

20+ £100-£1000 live tourneys a month gonna be difficult and involve lots of travelling hotels food expenses. would these be included in any deals? This is a tough ask to do on any staking deal and earn enough to live unless u r a true hero. Good luck tho hope you get the deal that suits and fwiw I would think a deal with those who will give most support/coaching and least pressure would work best. GL

i was going to say at the minute only place offering this kind of volume is dtd 5 days a week every month dont know anywere that does a £100 monday and tuesday that you could travel to"!

Are there actually 4 of these comps a week. Most wouldbe at weekends and not so much mid week IMO. Obv Palm beach first Monday of month springs to mind but not too much else on school nights

I know a red pro that was allowed to play any tourney he wanted but could not even cover the hotel travel expenses. Obv a whole different level but you can fly across Europe for a tank full of petrol these days.

i have drawn up a deal with somebody and it involves 13 comps at 3 differant festivals  in nov and one 1 day comp aswell obv some of theese comps could possibly overlap if finals are made in the 2 day comps...as for expenses etc i dont think it will be costing me too much tbh.

Doesn't the vic and palm beach have big daily tourneys?

Palm Beach have finished with poker from what I have heard and Fox took the monthly £1000.

Not so much your issue as it works in your favour if you busto your backer, but do all the relevant parties have funds to back you for this level of tournaments?

stu the answer to ur question is they could prob go 2 years without a cash laying out 3-4k a month on me and that prob still wouldnt busto them.....im pretty sure nobodys gonna go 2 years without cashing so i guees im fine

Why would u want to just play live mtt's? Surely you have to play online for variance reasons + to improve your game.
Seems extremely hard to get better when just grinding live mtt. Also 50/50 seems bad for the staker IMO, if its ONLY live mtt.

finished 21st in gps main......played really when just got unlucky in two big pots which would have put me on 900k each time which was defo enough for a final table imo.....didnt really get hands on day 1 but such a brilliant structure u can just plod along and pick up pots in good spots...ended day 1 with 52k which was 34 bigs for the next day which was fine......chipped up really well on day 2 and had 570k at start of last level 8-16k....first hand back and old guy like 60 plus makes it 40k in the hijack playin 256k.....i look down at jj and decide i dont want to 3 bet and have to fold on flop if overs come because if i 3 bet to  95k and he flats the pots gonna be 200k and im out of position....so i just shove he thinks for 5 seconds and says yh go on then and flips kq offsuit.....king on flop and and im down to 214k.....end the day on 240k for day 3 with 29 left......had a pretty bad table draw on 3rd day with chip leader directly to my left and 2nd chip leader the 3rd to my right......won one pot pre and then lost few blinds then doubled to 400k at 10-20k........had a good situation when in bb but alan lamont made a really gold fold hijack opens to 45k alan 3 bets the small to 110k and i jam for 400k in bb he folds aq suited face up and i show my ak suited.....make 2 raise folds with ace highs one time got 3 bet from big stack on my left and the other the big stack 3 bet and him and the other big stack had raising war that ended in a 6 bet shove........so im bk to abotu 400k and i raise the button to 50k at 12-24 and rob boon shoves on me playin 370k.....i dont think he has a hand and so i made the call with ace high vs his 8 6 he hits the 8 and im nearly out got my 30k back to 130 then shoved ak into 44....sigh.....dissapointed to not final this comp but will defo be playin every leg next year

hi marc appreciate ur comment but live mtt and online mtt totally dif imo.....also the deal is not 50/50 its no where near that but it doesnt have make up so i see this deal as fine for the time being
