Title: SB vs BB spot
Post by: EvilPie on October 29, 2012, 11:20:51 AM
Playing the DTD £50 cubed last night.

I've somehow shoved and pillaged my way back to a decent stack after losing loads in a flip.

Blinds 2k/4k + 500. 8 handed so 10k in the middle.

I'm on 97k which is about 2nd on my table. Total chips in play 1M so average 58,800

Folds to me in the SB.

BB has about 60k and is really tight. To give an idea of how tight he counted out his stack a few times before eventually calling my shove with A10. We can safely assume this is bottom of his range given the dwell.

So given that his calling range is so incredibly narrow can we shove atc?

Thought afterwards that I should've raise/folded against this guy but was my 910o shove ok anyway?

Think you have answered ur own question. Easy raise/fold vs this type of player. Probs don't need to go too be pre eithet

Yeah. Think I got a bit hasty because I was in the 'shove zone'. Oops.

Don't feel too bad, shove is very profitable, although as George suggests probs not the best option.

Yeah it didn't feel like a mistake it was just afterwards I thought not optimal.

How wide can we shove against that sort of calling range?

Glad you said that. I didn't actually look :D

Was pleasantly surprised to see 9 10

Not so happy to see A10 :(

never folding vs described villain, either raise/folding, raise/calling or jamming depending on how good my hand is. T9 = jammings.

Look at your cards because you can fold 23 off and you may not want to shove if you happen to pick up a real premium hand.  If its a playable hand i don't mind shoving as a lot of live players may peel if you just open.

100% not. I was seat 9, he was 1 so I knew he couldn't know.

I can't add anything useful that hasn't already been said - work on your 3 outers imo.

All of above.
