b)SNG The Buy in $5. I've been playing the $1 SNGs and am beginning to feel comfortable with them, so I'm dipping my toes into a slightly larger buy in. Number of Runners 10 Number of Runners remaining 3 Payout information if relevant standard Blind levels/Clock length 200/400. Due to go up to 250/500 in about 1 mins Your stack size 4595 Stack Sizes of relevant opposition BB 2480 button 2925. In the hand concerned your position at the table and that of relevant opposition BB posts 400 leaving 2080 behind. I'm UTG What is your image? LAG What is the image of the opponents concerned? Is there any history? Any reads? Both are playing TAGish atm. Everyone is pushing when they get the chance to be first into the pot For online hands are there any tracking software stats available for your opponent(s)? No What is the situation? Describe as fully as you can? On the bubble. Everyone is pushing once an orbit so stacks are staying similar (everyone has about 2k). I steal 2 in a row without being called up, then get Ad Td UTG and push for the third time. I get called by short stack with Aspades 5s and get through to the cash with 4500 chips Next hand I get Qh Jd UTG. I tank and end up pushing. BB calls with Ad Jc and I end up doubling him through. Next hand I'm in BB and get Qs Js. UTG folds and same villain pushes his 4960. I call for the rest of my chips and he shows Ac 6d. He wins, I'm out What questions do you want answered? Generally, is QJ good enough to push with 3 handed? Is it good enough to call with? Specifically, does the fact I've pushed 3 times in a row (and shown AT) mean that in this case I shouldn't have pushed now I have a decent chip lead? Again, how poor was the call for all my chips with the last hand (I'm concious of the impending blind increase, but maybe I panicked a bit ????) Presumably there will be a folder on your computer that the hh's get copied into, but you might need to tick a box in settings for this to occur. When you're 3 handed, UTG is not really an accurate description. You are on the button. It seems like this is quite an important point that was breezed over. I know I'm a massive pessimist, but I don't know how I'd live if I thought "UTG" instead of "OTB" (on the button)!! Again, I really hope I don't come across as condescending here, you might know all this stuff and have made a genuine mistake when writing it up. As you lose players, and the table becomes short-handed, hand values go up in strength (because of a bunch of reasons, but mostly because there are less opposing cards. A2 is not strong against 16 randomly assigned cards, but is huge against 4 randomly assigned cards.) For this reason, we should adapt by effectively removing weaker positions from the table. For example in this 3-handed arrangement, even though UTG and the button are the same position, we adapt correctly by removing the weaker position and playing our hand as if we were the button. Similarly, at a 4-handed table, UTG and UTG+1 become the cutoff and the button respectively. We should play UTG as we would normally play the cutoff position, and so on. Seems like a small point to dwell on, particularly if you already knew all this ;) But it's a good thing to think about, especially now that you're moving up and a lot of your competition is going to have a decent grasp of these concepts. |
