Title: Live rebuy structures Post by: david3103 on November 01, 2012, 01:30:00 PM Casino wants to put a guarantee on - £20 rb with double add-on - 40 runners = £2k gtd
Local players want to minimise their buyin, Casino obviously wants to minimise their risk of overlay (if there are significant overlays the chances of the cardroom ever being given a guarantee again will vanish) So - what's the optimum starting stack to achieve the objective of making this a successful idea? Title: Re: Live rebuy structures Post by: david3103 on November 01, 2012, 01:49:21 PM Am I missing where the buy in amount is? You weren't missing it, I had... edited - £20rb with double add-on Title: Re: Live rebuy structures Post by: Marky147 on November 01, 2012, 02:15:38 PM We used to have a £10rb in Bournemouth that was 500 chips starting and the same for a rebuy. You got a treat for the add on though at 2k iirc :D
Used to be good prizepools though and absolute carnage!! It's finding the balance, so that the players can't just sit there and treat it like a f/o and have to get involved. On the flipside to that, you have to accept that making it punty will result in losing some players. I'd say the best way to do things would be to have a bigger add on instead of just a double, that will encourage more people to stay in until that point I think and it won't make much difference in the grand scheme of things anyway. People find it just as easy to flick in 50bb with a pair as they do 20...... Rambled on a bit, but I'd say 1k chips and a 5k addon would be good. Should ensure that people punt enough unavoidably and they will stay in to get the 5k after 2 levels. Also agree with making the r/b levels 40 mins, think that was what ours was and it still nearly always finished by 3 from an 8pm start with about 50 runners. Title: Re: Live rebuy structures Post by: rfgqqabc on November 01, 2012, 02:53:49 PM 1.5k starting, 50/100, 100/200, 30 min levels. 3k addon for 40 after break start at 100/200 blinds again, go from there
Title: Re: Live rebuy structures Post by: madlondoner on November 04, 2012, 03:14:59 AM One thing that works well is having 2k start but like online allowing people to double buy in. This allows the poorer players to have a punt whilst allowing the prizepool the reach a decent level. I don't like having a rebuy where in the last rebuy level you get 10bb or less.
I think the add on should not be too much or people will just try to get to the end of the rebuy period the cheapest. There has to be a worth to gambling or it may as well be a freezeout. Used to be 2K starting chips and when they moved it to 3K I was concerned that it was too deep but the "rebuy dynamics" didn't change too much and net result was a fairly deep structure after the 2 x 45mins rebuy levels with average normally around 16K at 100/200 Level 3. The larger stack seems to bring in a few who will punt maybe £40 entering late and locking up though rebuy period.

3 x 30 min levels to rebuy in: 50/100, 100/200, 150/300. 20 mins w/ antes after that. 4500 addon for £20.
