Title: UKIPT Brizzle Staking Request (Sold Out)
Post by: jjandellis on November 03, 2012, 01:05:44 AM
I'm looking to sell 50% for the UKIPT Bristol, which is my local casino.

I'm selling now in a hurry as I have seen the event is rapidly filling up and have decided not to take anymore chances with satellites. TBH I am scratching my head at how I've not satty'd yet, as I've minor cashed/bubbles online and live quite a few times already.  If I manage to satty inbetween now and then obviously all stakes still stand...

Since my last staking request my hendonmob has improved with a few more entries:

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=s&n=80808 (http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=s&n=80808)

On top of these I've gone deep (bubbled or close to) in a UKIPT£330 side event and also at DTD (got an annoying duck to break there).  I've binked a couple of nice tourneys that don't get Hendon'd and my ROI for tourneys since Jul, when I began using Poker Income app, is 49% (combined live/online).  I can provide copies of results if necessary (if had more time would get excel to spit out a fancy graph).

I gave up for a couple of years and I'm now into my second year back. I think I'm settling back into tourneys and results are beginning to reflect that.

So looking to sell at 1.175 no mark up which gives:

10% = £90.48 77
5% = £45.24 38.50

Expecting flames...

22.5% - gone elsewere.
2.5% - Millidonk. PAID
10% - Doobs. PAID
5% - Honeybadger PAID
5% - Woodsey PAID
5% - Discostu (cash at casino)

I've got a little book going with Bristol UKIPT, but not sure of mark up here. Would have possibly took a couple of % to add to book. :(

I dont really see why this needed to be said first reply to a staking request. It puts other potential investors off imo and is in no way helpful to OP. if u dont want to buy then dont buy, dont state that you think OP isnt worth the markup he has placed on himself in the event.

Best way to show support is to buy.

OP should put up his OPRs and sharkscopes.  Though I can find some small losers, I don't think I have found them all.

If charging a premium, at the least I should be able to see why that is.

As it is it is probably best to just say he is having a punt when playing well above his normal stakes and sell at 1:1.   A lot of people just like a sweat.

100% agree with this. Obv people shouldn't just come on and say you are not worth that amount, but on the other hand people should say why they are worth the amount they are asking for. On the staking template I knocked up there was a heading called 'reason for markup' - really think people should have to justify themselves and i think writing exactly why you think you are worth X amount extra would stop some people charging over the odds. Obv not suggesting people be overly honest like; "selling 75% @1.2 so I don't have to put up any of my own money up" or "selling 50% at 1.6934 to cover my hotel, taxis and a bit of grub". Just "i did this, i did that here are my results online and live etc."

In reality there are probs <15 ppl on blonde who are genuinely worth any markup at all in a single tournament.

I like a punt probably more than the next man but have been put off recently due to a lot of people charging markups with little or no justification. So I just exercise 'Don't like, don't buy'. This subject has been discussed to death and nothing really ever comes of it, but meh.

As Tom and Frankie said it's not really on to say "you are not worth that amount", I hope I haven't done that here, just trying to say people should be forthcoming with why they are charging the amount they are asking for.

Sorry for derail jj, just replying to a valid point Doobs raised.

2.5% plz. pm bank deets

Bit confused. The title says 'no mark up' but the last post you made on the subject says selling at 1.1. Which one is the case? It is possible I am being dim and missed something because I am very, very tired right now...

Ooops... yes I was just being dim. It is 1:1 not 1.1!! Silly me.

Thanks Frankie. I don't mind the flaming tbh, as I'm 100% honest stand-up guy and if I'm being out of order with something I don't mind being told.  But 'the book' Aaron is keeping and his subsequent lack of responses to markdown says it all.  Now think his post was more of a troll. GTFO.

I forgot all about this to be honest, only just realised this when came looking to see about Dan Carter.

You should have gone with your gut instinct about MU if you thought it was right, imo. Not trolling fwiw, would have possibly took upto 5.
