Do people actually subscribe to pokerplayer these days and pay for it?  Or is all the stuff in the magazine on their website too?

I haven't paid for it for over two years, but somehow still get it.

PokerPlayer is my favorite poker magazine by far. They have been really clever with the introduction of guys like LilDave, The Squid etc, it appeals to the online guys who will be the mass market. There's definitely still plenty room for print journalism.

I used to subscribe at the start but then I stopped because the local casinos were getting free copies and I could just nick 1 of them.  Then I stopped going to casinos as much and I dont think they get them anymore anyway.

The column in next month's issue (out end of November) is one of the best things I've read from a poker player in an absolute age. Really great stuff.

Edit: Realised I'm setting myself up there. Apart from lildave, Karl and anyone else who writes for us I can't remember at the moment. All I meant was it's a great read. I will make sure we stick it online shortly after the mag comes out so you can all read it.

Bought this because of this thread, making it the first poker magazine I've purchased for, well, ever.

Very impressed not just with Sam's article but with the whole issue.

Well written, good format with interesting and varied articles.

Poker journalism has come a long way since Poker Europa (and my crap efforts in Card Player).

Read the recent issue too and was impressed. I don't really enjoy the technical advice side to the magazine but all the reviews and topical stuff and live reporting i found interesting.
