Diets are diets, but there are so many things to cut out that can help you lose pounds a week, rather than going on extreme, like a diet.

Less carbs, cut down on snacks and perhaps less of everything. We are only on earth for a few years, so why worry about food too much? I tried to go on a diet, failed.

Less butter, Less bread (if on white, go to wholemeal), if on blue milk go to green, fruit instead of simple snacks, would really avoid pasta too. No eating after 8pm, imo.

No need to go on these diets unless on some major plan to lose some major weight. Cutting all of the above or making changes listed above will help you lose quite a few pounds a week.

Obv a little exercise helps too.

Eat healthier, exercise more. Needs to be a permanent change rather than something you do for 'x' amount of months. Always eat breakfast and if you need to snack, have fruit. The problem with diets is they don't address the reason you need to lose weight in the first place. I lost over 1/2 a stone quite easily through changing my eating habits and weight training. I didn't eat less or starve myself so it didn't feel like a chore. I've recently slipped back into my old ways and the weight has started to re-appear so I'm going to reapply myself to changing my lifestyle again and try to make it permanent and keep the weight off.

It's all very simple really.

Calories consumed > calories used = weight gain
Calories consumed < calories used = weight loss

That's the simple version, and obviously there's more to it than that. But as has been said a short- term diet will be a short-term solution.

I eat more white bread, white pasta, white rice and oven chips than probably anyone else I know. I keep hearing that these things cause weight gain, but I'm just under 6' and weigh 12st 6lbs. So it looks like these things in isolation don't cause weight gain. I also eat a predominantly low-fat diet (history of heart disease in the family), so maybe that's a contributing factor? I also exercise regularly, and I know that burns up calories and also increases the calories burned up through metabolism.

My advice would be like others have said. Eat less (especially things you know aren't great such as takeaways), do regular exercise, and stick to that long-term.

What time isn't after 8pm?

Watch the life regenerator on youtube,  quickest way to lose weight is having a raw vegan diet.. But agree with everyone else eat healthier in general and less rubbish..

Went to a friend of mines atakeaway in Notts he made a me a donner kebab (told him I hadn't tried it before), it was probably the most vile thing I'd vever tasted, secondly it gave me the worst case of food poisoning I'd ever had (worse then I got in India) I lost 14lbs in a week as a result, I could always pass on the takeaways number to you...

Lots protein..meat chicken and tuna best..vegetables..try to cut a lot of carbs out..bread potatoes pasta etc.... fizzy drinks especially and beer

it will be boring for a while but once you lose weight you can then introduce some nice stuff to maintain a certain weight
