Saddening to see that people can still be so incomprehensibly monstrous in 2012. I still expect there to be monkey chants at the game tonight and of course hope I'm proved wrong.

After all the nonsense in Serbia, how will UEFA react?

Was about to post this.

It's been going on for years in Italy, and without any action by FIFA or UEFA.  Nothing will be done, the same as there weren't any sanctions after the incident in Lille five years ago when Man U fans were subjected to violence by Lille fans and the police. Imagine if it was the other way round and these things happened in the UK?

Everytime an English club goes to Rome this happens and yet nothing is done about it.  It happened when i went there with Boro and we were set upon in what seemed like a preplanned attack with the permission of the police.  We were all drinking in a bar the night before the game and whilst there were undoubtedly a few faces there (thank god as it happens) it was mainly normal fans with their families, wives etc.  All day we were watched by about 20 local police and then all of a sudden they all just decided to disappear en masse.  About fifteen minutes later about 40-50 (we assume) Roma fans showed up with knives, axes etc and set upon us.  The guy at the front had a firemans helmut on and was carrying an axe.  I think I can handle myself but I was very frightened.  A couple of the faces stood and fought them whilst the rest got away and one, a very famous face on Teeside, got his stomach opened up for his troubles.  Every year since when an English club has played in Rome something similar has happened.  I honestly believe they shouldn't be allowed to host European fixtures until they sort it out.
