so my mate asks me to go to the casino with him tonight...i go along with him to aspers northampton....sitting at the table its the shittest comp ever 15 quid self deal and everyone has there shades and headfones on lol.....so i order sme food and im sitting eating it whe i drop my knife my two cards are infront of me and i dont even look at them i just get up and go to get a new knife....come back to the table to find the bloke to my right tellin me ive got a two hand penalty for leavin the table etc lol...obv he gets a ruling to so i say ok wtever pretty pathetic id never do it to somebody else in this comp especially as i just wanted a new knife.....so i take the penalty and say ok im goin all in every hand in the dark after...i do and double up......now im in the bb and while the cards r bein delt i stand from my chair and step away and ask a player at the cash game if ther is a seat....as i go to look at my cards matey to the right chirps up again and says my hands dead...wtf is wrong with this guy he gets a ruling again i explian i litrally stood up etc and zak rules it dead...i obv tell the guy how much of a idiot he is with a few other words mixed in many times.......he doesnt say anything back just gets on with it like its the right thing to keep tryin to get me penalised......i shove again and bust then wander off downstairs for 20-30 mins when zac and doorman come over and he points me out to them to throw me out........bloke has apparently told door staff he wants me thrown out for what i said to him.......what would happen if im still in the comp with a lot of chips??? and would i of got a refund if i hadnt of busted.....asked the manager this also aswell as telling him that while im wandering around i had a small gamle and lost like 20 quid so now ur throwin me out ur not giving me the chance to win my money back is that fair also  considering i have not really done anything wrong ???

Can't just fling people torrents of abuse and not expect any commupance. Think  you are in the wrong tbh.  Wouldnt call for the ruling myself but neither would i leave the table to get anoher knife in the middle of a hand. Just sit down when you have cards. EZ game.

Sounds like you were both acting out of line to be honest.

Leaving your chair whilst in a hand isn't on, and your hand should be dead and there should be a penalty for repeat offences. Then giving another player abuse is also something casinos should be more strict on. No one has the right to dish out abuse at another player or dealer just because they aren't happy about something.

I went to play a poker tournament and this guy was there who obviously knew what he was doing. He was eating at the table and the next thing he's causing a scene cos he's dropped his knife. He knows he's got cards but he wanders off anyway. We're sitting there waiting for this guy to come back from wherever he's going while the clock is ticking down.

Chap must know what he's doing so I say his hand is dead and as he didn't say anything that is a penalty in my book. Guy doesn't take it well when he comes back, like we all were supposed to know what he was doing and that the rules didn't apply to him.

He then declared he's going to go all in blind every hand and doubles through my mate will some rubbish. Next thing, he's off again!

Another out of turn pass...another penalty!

Guy goes off his rocker, effing and jeffing and busts after another round of blind shoves. None of us could play a hand for two levels. I've had enough so I tell the TD the guy was out of order and I don't think he should be here if he's going to behave like that.

Obviously I'm overdramatising but would you be altogether surprised if that's the story the other guy has told people?

The whole situation is completely bonkers, frankly, but, if I can be so bold, now you've slept on it, is there anything you would have done differently?

Jase, as a mate please take this as i mean it - constructive criticism.

The 'guy' is being a little anal about the rules, however he is correct in every occurrence.  I used to be 'this' guy.


You left the table - hand penalty for killing your hand out of turn
You left the table when in the bb - hand is clearly dead.
You gave him any abuse at all - out of line, you should be ejected from the casino.
You have the CL in the tournament with x left - you should still be kicked out and get whatever money your stack gets without any play at all.  If they are 'clever' they will share your stack and make you get xth but they wont be, they will fight over it and you'll get further than you should be.

You have a temper mate and i don't doubt at all you were a little brusk and unwelcoming to this 'cleverdick' - but its a game of rules and he's correct.

Zak and the other guys there should apply a much grander rule - "all interpretations of all rules are done so to keep the integrity and spirit of the game"



Basically, don't go to play ridiculous freezeout's which are a waste of your time, better to get some pennies and play some made up dc with your mate.  When you do, behave!

Hi there im 'the cock' , feel yesterday evening could do with a little clarification as you seem to have left some relevant facts out. You called the manager on the 1st hand of the (£15) tournament because you didn't accept that the button starts in seat 9 in the 1st hand of play despite being directed to all the other tables around you doing the same. 5 minutes later you called the floor again because the dealer had accidentally turned over the 1st card dealt to me on the button which therefore meant I was dealt 2 cards at once (is this a major issue in a £15 tourney or did you just have a shit hand and want a reshuffle?). You then get arsey with the table after walking off thereby acting out of turn and being asked not to do it in future as it carries a 2 hand penalty. You then decide to give yourself the penalty anyway and following it up again 2 minutes later by leaving the table and not coming back until after the hands were dealt. It's pretty simple and please don't get paranoid but when you act like a ***** your treated like one. This could be due to the fact that you are actually a *****.

It was a genuine question. 

You left your seat a number of times, which meant that you were acting out of turn intentionally, aware that it's bad poker etiquette and could possibly result in a penalty (especially after you've been penalised already), and then you verbally abuse another player who as far as I can tell hasn't done anything wrong?

The guy is a bit of a dick for getting anal over the rules in a £15 comp but at the same time I imagine your general attitude and overall manner in the situation was really bad too.

Let him call his rulings etc its not worth getting upset over.

But it wasn't just the once, was it?  You said in your OP you acted out of turn several times, and then unleashed the abuse at the other player.  Also, even if you need to leave your seat for a legitimate reason, you just wait until it's your turn to act, no?

Would you do the same in a "properly run cardroom" like DTD?  You'd get short-thrift there as well behaving like that.

Warnings, and then penalties for repeat offenders.  Based on common-sense usually.

Tbh the guy is dealing in a self deal comp if he has volunteered then fair play to him he is enableing himself and 9 others to have an evening of poker. If he wants to be a stiffler for the rules then that's his choice. If you play poker for a living which it seems you do from the comments in the thread you should be able to rise above this without offering someone for a scrap outside which is only going to get you banned from this and other casinos! If someone winds me up at my place of work i cannot do this as i will be sacked and you could do it to yourself in pokers equivalent way

first hand you still had cards so when you stood up to get the knife you folded out of turn giving free info to players to act before you this isnt acceptable and even in the pub games i run you would get a penalty

2nd hand you should be sat in your seat at the table from the first car being dealt untill you fold and the reason this is important is that while your moving to and from the table you might glimpse cards people are looking at, if your not in your seat when the card is dealt your hand is dead,
