No joke, I haven't railed anyone online in years including good friends, but I did load up his table last night and it did remind me of when I first started taking poker seriously. His sheer enthusiasm, coupled with the fact he started the thread way to early and avoiding bokking himself. Sure beat the usual '+1', 'fold pre', 'meh' single line posts we get sometimes.

I remember my first run like this....

I had been betting on Betfair for a while (obv) and had started to play around on the Poker for v small stakes. I was living with a couple of really good mates at the time in our first post uni gaff as we started to make our way in London. I arrived home from work and fired up a $5.50 satellite to some nightly $55 comp.

I copped the satellite, and before I knew it what was essentially something I had been doing to 'pass the time' got serious.

Anyway, obv I tore the $55 apart, inflicting some pretty horrendous beats along the way - I remember one hand opening 97hh, being 3bet by someone and saying to my mate (who used to sit on my shoulder trying to stop me from being overly aggressive (surely not you, Ed, I hear you say), "I'm going all in. There's just so few hands he can call with". Obv he called with Jacks, we got there, and the results of the hand confirmed to me that I remained a genius ;)

Anyway, at about 10pm I closed it out with QQ against 99 HU and was $1600 richer. Treated the boys to a slap up Chinese when the last housemate got back from work. Remains one of my most vivid, and fondest memories in poker.

Chelseaboy - long may your enthusiasm for the game continue.

It was just like the old days with the PRO.

First time I've railed someone on blonde online for years I think. Was good to watch chelseaboy pick up $800, and the quality of the rail was top notch. Some quality put downs to some players giving our boy grief and I'm sure the other players weren't quite sure what was going on.

OK Mr Chelsea Bloke, this is what you have to do now. You may not have realised this, but some of the guys railing you last night are seriously successful pro players.

You were worried about a few of the hands you played - I can recall two over the 2 nights, the one with the big overbet, & the other one where you 5 bet (?) with 2-2 or whatever. There may have been others, I don't recall, these are just examples.

We have a Board where some of the best poker players in the UK give advice on the correct lines, or plays, in certain situations, it is called PHA, or "Poker Hand Analysis".

So, if you want some help & advice from some really successful players, stick the hands up over there. You don't HAVE to heed their words, & they often disagree, but it can only help you to at least engage with them, & listen to what they say.

The important thing is that they will NOT just say "raise", "fold" or whatever, but they will tell you WHY. If anyone just gives a one word reply, just ignore. I promise, you will get a ton of help there, & nobody will diss, mock, or take the pee.

Your position in the hand relative to the Button or Blinds.

I'll be honest when I first saw his thread the first night, railing him was the last thing I thought I'd do.

But I was kind of addicted to his enthusiasm and love for poker, I kept checking back to see how he was doing and last night I was fully on the rail, in the chatbox with loads of other blondes, loving it! Like others have said, it brought back so many memories of my first times playing poker. 4 years ago I remember running back (!) from DTD back to my university halls with £90 in my pocket that I'd got for coming 4th in the £10 beginners freezeout, absolutely over the moon! Every allin means so much, every pot a buzz. It was really nice to actually relive that and get fully behind chelsea boy's sweat.

Kind of nice after/during a horrible downswing to kind of forget about it and remember it's just a game and have fun with it like we were all doing last night on the rail.

On a side note, I got pretty annoyed when people posted things in the thread about hands he was playing, trying to criticize or even advise. It was the last thing he needed, getting shown up by people and getting distracted from what he was doing. The rail is all about support, enthusiasm and love for the game! Save PHA for the PHA board!

Yeh was hilarious when people he knocked out came back in the chat to try and abuse him and they just got 8 blondes tearing them a new one out of nowhere!

I can name on one hand the times I've enjoyed a rail that much. The other times I enjoyed them that much have been railing my best/closest friends.

Its not very often we're reminded of what makes us love Poker. The enthusiasm and heart Chelseaboy showed yesterday is exactly the reason I fell in love with Poker. Once upon a time we all used to love the game that much!

As Alex says, it makes you forget downswings, variance and the crap we obsess about, and just enjoy the beautiful game.

Oh and I just love shouting SIT DOWN at people XD

Remember talking to honey badger about this. Comparing poker to a relationship. Chelseaboy is at the start of a relationship with poker where the love is exciting and new.

With your stack size relative to the blinds, you only have the option of shoving with 77.  Certainly can't be set-mining with them.
