Title: 3 final tables then ran out of luck Post by: smurf on December 02, 2012, 11:08:20 PM Had a fantastic weekend online playing $2 tournies two were rebuys.
First was 5th from 1141 when the big stack called everyone and my Ad Ks gets pipped by his Aspades 4h Second was 3rd from 2200 in a super turbo again I was ahead all in and got pipped. Then tonight 8th from 1300 but joined the final table chip leader, the hand in question was played how I would always play it here and i perhaps could have seen a flop - what do you think. Blinds are 25k 50k small stack all in for 108k 2nd big stack min raises about 200k or so he has 900k behind I have Ac Kc so push all in for 1.6m looking to shake him off take his min raise and play the hand for virtually free, he calls with Kd Kh I miss and left with about 400k which goes in again with AK next hand and he calls again with 66 and knocks me out. Should I tighten up on the final table or continue playing my own way? There was quite a difference I got $220 for 8th it was $2200 for 1st I felt the play was right but afterwards doubted it - if my hand had won I would have had some thing like 3m chips and 2nd would have been around 900k Always easy afterwards but if I start folding AK on a final table then what cards would I want??? Looking back a bigger raise from the KK could have been the only move to make me think twice Title: Re: 3 final tables then ran out of luck Post by: MC on December 03, 2012, 08:51:50 AM 50p I'm afraid.

I personally would of 3bet and then played it out from there... I dont think the push is a good move against the big stack... if it was another small stack then maybe but the fact that he was the other big stack makes it a bit different. but well done on a good run :) Title: Re: 3 final tables then ran out of luck Post by: chiphungry on December 05, 2012, 10:06:26 PM I think you can ship it or call in position to see a flop, but if you miss how are you going to feel when he bets out! This is why I prefer the ship here because you can still win the side-pot pre-flop and also isolate the short stack. If you 4bet here I think it puts you in an awkward spot because you are basically pot committed to call his 5bet shove with such a strong hand.
