Genting bought it just to turn it into a casino?

Gutted. London already has enough casinos. Fox will be sorely missed 😢

I joined Friday. Maybe they just did not want me to go back. Hope the staff are relocated as they seemed really happy in their jobs. The first thing i thought was how can you guys afford to live in London on croupier wages.

Good luck to em all

Bit shocked, I liked Fox, often played when in London on business

Aspers Stratford prob hasn't helped them

Agree about the staff, some been there the 2 years, best wishes to all of them

those directions were spot on mate..... Got picked up at the station by someone with a sat nav..... Almost immediately the sat nav tried to send us down a one way street so we went with yours ;)

Edit.... Kicked up a fuss when I asked em why I was not given a membership card. Told em I would be expecting it in the post. Guess its not coming now

Seemed to get a decent tourny volume, but not enough cash games or casino business to sustain a venue with central London expenses. Shame though.

Real, real shame. Especially coming hard on the heels of International closing. Thoughts go out to the staff. Hope Genting looks after them properly.

Very disappointed. Their monthly tournament had a good structure but clashed with DTD so didn't get the numbers it deserved.

I was there this weekend. It was also where I played my first live tournament in November 2010.

Whenever I heard people talking about the Fox, they'd say that the tournaments were great, but not much cash action - and recommend elsewhere for that.

Was this the problem?

Genting UK has issued a statement following the surprise closure of the Fox Poker Club on Monday. The club confirmed that the Shaftesbury Avenue venue will re-open in spring 2013 as an unspecified Genting venue.
All player funds will be transferred to the Genting Casino Cromwell Mint in South Kensington including deposits, promotional tournament tokens. Players will also able to redeem any outstanding Fox cash chips.

The monthly £1,000 Big Game, which only recently to the Fox from the Palm Beach, will head to the Mint, as will the £400 monthly Main Event.

ā€œGenting UK look forward to welcoming Fox Poker Club members to the Mint or their other venues including the Palm Beach Casino, Mayfair which has a high stakes cash poker room with nightly Ā£5-Ā£10 Hold’em cash games,ā€ read the statement from Genting. ā€œThe Bluff Europe Cardroom at the Genting Casino Cromwell Mint hosts evening tournaments at 7:30pm ranging from Ā£40 to Ā£70 entry and cash games starting from Ā£1-Ā£2 blinds.ā€

I hadn't realised the big game had moved from the Palm Beach, anyone know why they moved it and why it's not moving back there?

How many tables does the Mint have? I thought it was only around 7 or 8. It's also a bit claustrophobic.

Only 3 tables in the PB these days, cash only, works way better imo.
