Just for info the Village Hotel are currently doing rooms with breakfast for two for 55-
Just a couple of hundred yards from the Casino.

My confidence in making the second day is such that I have already booked my room--LOL

The rate is for advance bookings only on

What's the story with this comp

How many runners expected or to how many restricted?

Are sponsors adding anything?

Anything else to help me make my mind up?

No sponsors so far as I know.

The last one sold out, no reason why this one wont either.

It will be covered by Poker 425, & all Finalists will be asked for an interview, though they are entitled to refuse. Blonde will be doing a Live Update.

You could send a Personal Message (via the blonde Forum, top of page) to a guy called Dani Versace, who is a blondeite, & seems to know a good deal about what goes off in Walsall Grosvenor.

Lol, he should do he's the cardroom manager!!
BTW ask him about the recent rule change regarding exposed cards.
Beware all..

Hehe, I was aware of that Ian, but I noticed Dani always posts in a way that suggests he does not want the connection known.

Gaffe blown!

So tell us more about the new "exposed cards" rule......come on, spill the beans.

Title: Re: Walsall 300 Freeze-Out 25th-26th-Hotel
Post by: ifm on June 20, 2005, 11:40:46 PM
Basically that's it, if you expose your cards in any way shape or form, deliberately, accidentally or even if someone looks over your shoulder your hand is DEAD!!
I actually said to Dan it would cause more trouble than it would solve and he said it is with the descretion of the cardroom manager, but i fail to see how they can distinguish.
BTW it claimed it's first victim after i think 1 day (maybe 2) when a fella was actually barred cuz he got abusive after falling foul of the decision.

Course, if we had a uniform set of rules.......

i think the uniform rules should be females in short shirts with black tights and low cut tops
and men should have collar tie long trousers and polished shoes

Title: Re: Walsall 300 Freeze-Out 25th-26th-Hotel
Post by: Ironside on June 21, 2005, 02:23:57 AM
i'll have a look for a hotel room and see if there is still a seat on flight tomorrow

major problem is that the only flight between aberdeen and brum on a saturday leaves at 10am

which means leabing the house at 7 30 am

or getting out of bed at 5am

the rule has always been there, when exposing a hand, 99% of players says it was unintensional so we used to giv the benafit to the player by sayin his hand stays live but he cant make action, (they all giv their different reasons for exposing their hand), so now all we are sayin is its the players responsability to know wants going on the table and wait for the dealer to tell them on their backs. i dont think thats to much to ask, at least now players know where thay stand, if there hand is exposed and theres still chips then their hand is dead

Jim R - yes, it may well sell out. Can you get across to Luton and buy in there? If not, call or e-mail me, I will see what I can sort.

Ironside - it's a Grosvenor, but I am sure one of us can sign you in as a guest. An undesirable guest maybe, but a guest.

The Aberdonian and the Stranger.....
One bright sunny day, an Aberdonian was riding his horse into town with his dog and his sheep along beside them. They came across a stranger who was traveling in the opposite direction, and began the following conversation:

Stranger: "Hey, that's a cool dog you've got there. Mind if I speak to him?"

Aberdonian: "The dog disnae talk."

Stranger: "Hey dog, how's it going?"

Dog: "Doin' alright."

Aberdonian: Look of shock.

Stranger: "Is this man your owner?" (pointing at Aberdonian)

Dog:: "Yep"

Stranger: "How does he treat you?"

Dog: "Real good. He walks me twice a day, feeds me great food, and Takes me to the loch once a week to play."

Aberdonian: Look of total disbelief.

Stranger: "Mind if I talk to your horse?"

Aberdonian: "My horse disnae talk."

Stranger: "Hey horse, how's it going?"

Horse: "Cool."

Aberdonian: Extreme look of shock.

Stranger: "Is this your owner?" (pointing at Aberdonian)

Horse: "Yep"

Stranger: "How's he treat you?"

Horse: "Pretty good, thanks for asking. He rides me regularly, brushes me down often, and keeps me in a shed to protect me."

Aberdonian: Total look of utter amazement.

Stranger: "Mind if I talk to your sheep?

Aberdonian: "The sheep's a liar and I've never heard of lap dancers".

Seriously though, I love Rob's humour. He has such a comand of the english language (as you might expect)

His jokes are like Jean Georges Vongerichten making you a jam sandwich, you enjoy the presentation as much as the content

I once bought Rumit in at Luton for a comp the following week. You were NOT perrmitted to buy in for another person at the time, & maybe still aint for all I know.

Name? Rumit.

What comp? The 300.

310 please. OK

At which point, Matey Boy arrives, & seeing the ticket for Rumit on the desk, says "there's a thing, I was on the beach with Rumit yesterday morning in St Marteen, he's decided to stay there for another week...."

I slunk away, & thought I'd got it through, until the PA system boomed out "Rumit to Cash Desk, Rumit to Cash Desk". Look away, I think, dont react. Then "Mr Kendall to Cash Desk". No wonder I cant get bluffs through. Not that I ever try, you understand.

i guess that might be a Draw Back to your Celebrity. You can't pretend to be the person you are buying in. But then again you would fiond it difficult to pass as a Rumit.
