Title: What is our get it in range vs cold4... (simple or no?)
Post by: youthnkzR on December 18, 2012, 05:08:38 PM
Notes on villains:
- potiss... : no exact stats but is fairly active and has a fairly high 3b % (only over a 120 hand sample) - is a ~$65k winner over a 10k game sample ($11 ABI) (Has not 3bet hero previous)
- KpacoTeHb : no exact stats but is fairly active and has an average 3b % (only over a 120 hand sample) - is a steady $40k winner over a 2k game sample ($27 ABI)

previous to this both villians are unknowns to us as we are to them.

hero has been playing 11/10 over a 120 hand sample and is UTG.

Tournament is $11r action hour on stars

you need a very specific reason to think people cold4 without it - your stats dont give a reason

KK+

This is an $11r so a bit above what I normally play but in normal $11 tournaments on Stars you do certainly get players who can 3-bet light and fold to a 4 bet, this is pretty exploitable as well. Although 120 hands is not a large sample size it is enough to get an idea if somebody is 3-betting light. A winning player is of course more likely to be four betting light and than non winning player.

With all this said though a cold 4-bet without a massive hand is so rare that if somebody does it I would just be believe them. Even players who 3-bet wide are often pretty tight on 4-betting. I would assign the cold 4 bettor a range of QQ+ and AK. Does that sound reasonable? Against that range you are around 40% with QQ or AK, 57% with KK and 84% with AA. To be honest the bet size makes me think he is more likely to have AA or KK here

Therefore if my range above is correct and I do not think it is to far off you can only call with AA and KK.
