Hi all,

G Casino Luton, January 26-27.

Team of 8.

£55 entry plus cost of team shirt.

I've been asked to captain the Blonde team for this years APAT championships. I welcome existing and new applications. Please can anyone who has expressed an interest please send me a PM with reasons as to why they should be selected for the team. Closing date will be the 28th December

A couple of things that you might want to include

-Your poker background/history

-How you came to join blonde


I do think that contribution to blonde is important however similarly I don't want to exclude anyone from the process. I am looking for a mixture of of blondes old and new.

Finally, I want to win. This however doesn't mean I'm going to pick people based on poker ability alone. I'm much more interested in having a good team spirit and players who really want to represent blonde through and through.

Team spirit is crucial in these. The winning teams tend to be very close, encourage each other, stick around if they get knocked out etc etc

Typically you need 2 of your 8 to make the final table. Do that, and you should win (pending any change in the scoring for this year I am unaware of)

Remember the one a good few years back.  We all stuck around after we'd been knocked out, waiting for the others.  Didn't have to wait long though.  Sheriff was the first one out, with a flopped set of kings against a flopped set of aces (easy fold ;)), and the rest of us didn't last much longer.

Hopefully Bedi's Bhoys do better this time round.

2 seasons ago we were favourites with 60 left in the tournament, as we still had 6 players in.. within 20 mins we were down to 2! Blonde are surely due to some run good in this!

That Saturday night was probably one of my highlights from a social side of things, remembering MickyP deciding to put his foot over my head at some ridic time in the morning!

That was three seasons ago in Manchester it was my first apat tournament. Now THAT was a proper Blonde team complete with team spirit and everything. Made up of regular members and posters another team with a similar dynamic would do well imho

Thought it was the last tourny of season 4 as there was a fair gap between that and the start of season 5.

Last one of Season 3. There was not a very big gap at all in that one as I remember. Season 3 ended in Manchester in Jan. Season 4 started in Swansea towards the end of March. Team Championship in season 4 was in Bolton.

Hi all- this has been a tough call. I've tried to pick a team which will play with enthusiasm and spirit and offer the best chance for the win. All applications were really well written and it's a pity we can't have two teams. After much deliberation the team to represent blonde is:

Have a list of "previous team successes" on the back of the shirts which, although completely made up, should scare the opposition.

Alternatively, some stars above the badge that look like you've won the event (or something more important) before.

I've booked Days hotel - walking distance to casino and nice and cheap.

I have also done this, had done so already tbh as was going to come and support/play local game if I was not picked.

Have stayed there before nice enough Hotel, has a bar etc, and the cafe between it and the casino is the nuts for getting fried breakfast. There is also a car park next door for I think £5/day or it is within walking distance of the casino if you don't mind leaving your car there.

Price is going up though I got it for less than £40 per night. If you want to use this one book now imo as a lot of other teams will use it I would think.

Booked Travelodge as can't argue with £15pn, despite taxi fares.

With regards to the live stream. Normally table 1 at Luton goes out on a stream. Not sure if it will be on on Saturday, will find out later in the week.

I really enjoyed yesterday and Friday - George did a great job, we had fun Friday night and I think it's fair to say we did run pretty bad as a team....that's poker though.  The APAT bunch were really nice guys - shared a table with JP Round, who have to agree with everyone that said top bloke and Simon for the sky team who busted me. They were all good company and thoroughly enjoyable.

Good to catch up with Stato, Bedi and Claw - and nice to meet Adam, Rod and Glen for he first time.  Vinny - well he was there.

Managed to say hello to a few of team blonde. Was a cracking day out, managed to stay in till 190hrs. Lost some moniez on the cash tables but it was a really gd tourney/day out. Hope to play it again and maybe some APAT events.

great weekend - really enjoyed it and proud to have finally got a chance to represent blonde at one of these and to have been part of such a great and friendly team.  Would have obviously loved to have done better, but the poker gods just weren't with us when it counted.  Well done to all the individual cashers and the team medal winners, especially Suzannes SWAT crew :)  Thanks too to Des, Leigh and Matt at APAT and all at the G for the excellent organisation, and thanks to stato for not taking me up on my countdown challenge.
