Sorry - meant to put this in the lounge.  Knew a few of the degens had played there - or was it just Tikay?

Nah, no degens, just one nit.....

Can't help much Rod, it was back in 2005 & 2006, I flew from Heathrow both times, once by Aeroflot, once by BA.

There are several airlines fly from Glasgow to St Pete though, including KLM, Air Berlin, Air France, Aeroflot etc.

Try this site, I find it really very good......

The Airport Code for St Petersburg is "LED".

PS - WIN!

Alternative would be a cheap flight to Tallinn or Riga or Helsinki and then overnight train or coach to st Pete. Not sure how much that would save really - the train isn't especially cheap, coach would probably save a few quid. But if you fancy passing through somewhere else on the way it might be an option.

Thanks all for the advice. Think the trip will be a bit much at the moment - another time no doubt.

That is such a good book and is definitely in my top 10. However, the validity of the story has been brought into question.
