Seen this 3 or 4 times this week already in the DTD sats for the 300, pretty much always happens on or close to the bubble.

A player types his hand into the chat box and then goes all in, its nearly always a player who is shortish stacked. Now of course they may or may not be telling the truth but they usually are from the cards I've seen, they usually have big hands so would want a call right?

I feel this is wrong and pretty bad form, but usually get told to GTFO if I say something in the chat box.

What you reckon? Should I STFU?

There isn't much you can to be quite honest.

I was watching on Tuesday night and saw some guy tell the table he had 44 & KK, twice I am sure he had them as his KK got called (and held). I am not sure what people can suggest, it is generally upto someone else to choose to believe that person, but I think in that situation I would imagine he was getting called with any two as he was that shortstacked.

Well I could grass them to the site, but I thought I would check opinion on here.

Don't think Stars would allow it, which is ultimately the benchmark for online poker.

I think when you think about similar situation live when someones shoves UTG and says "aces" - what should happen to their hand? Seems very trivial to think of a solution here?

I've already said I think its wrong, but I don't really know so that is why I'm asking here.

Report them to the site, and let the site deal with it. 

Effectively these people are cheating £300 seats from the poor sods who push KK, say nowt and then get busted by people who wouldn't call if they could see their hand.

I guarentee stars wouldn't allow it and take actions against these players (disqualify them from tournaments, suspend account etc). I would report it to the site.

I think the person who declared they had KK might be a blonde, but not sure. I was on their table on Tuesday and thought it a little odd.

It shouldn't really be allowed, but I guess there's nothing you can do at the time.  I'm sure there are lots on  Skype or similar on those sats, and wouldn't surprise me at all.

The standard is still pretty terrible though in those sats, with lots having no idea how to play satellite poker.

Hi All,

To confirm we take these matters very seriously, i suggest take a screen shot and nick name of the offending player and mail our support.
We will then get fraud to review the chat and the hand play to establish the severity of the case.
We have in the past sat on the bubble for these events to ensure no wrong doing, if this is necessary again we will take that course of action.
If anyone has further details please mail our support and we will look into it.

Are you able to turn off all chat once a tournament gets to say 1 table from the money or seats (in a sat). I think PokerStars does this (Not got that deep in a MTT there to be 100%) :)

In a cash game once, i guy who limped and was last to act called the raise saying "If i flop the nuts I'm just going to shove". He did flop the nuts and he did shove causing much hilarity,  but there was some controversy over his hand being dead/alive. I believe you can't declare your hand at the table, certainly not multi way, in most card rooms. Not in the mood to go looking in RROP right now hopefully someone clued up can help out.

That is why his hand was left live iirc. If he had stated I have QT on the AKJ board it would have been dead. When he jammed as it was on him he made another comment too, I've recalled the incident poorly because it is the only example of someone declaring their hand live that I've witnessed.

i played last night and didn't see any of this although i have in the past
i do not like it however not sure i would report it
i always think it just makes the player doing it appear weak
if some one is typing in kk before shoving to not get a call what would same player need to call a shove ?
my default line is not to believe 90% of what put into chat box
so am calling quite wide if i have plenty of chips and or other player is very short
the same goes for players who type in "only two more to go we will all get a seats if we slow down etc..." just think makes player seem weak and therefore more likely to shove on with wider holding as can expect a fold
having said all that i was 2 of 41 last night and didn't need to get involved much betwen there and bubble

Twice they showed and they did indeed have what they said, dunno about the other times, maybe they were mates with the guys they were shoving into? I have no idea tbh, I would say nothing and pray for a call.

It was the GTFO type comments I got each time after saying something that pissed me off as much tbh.

Must have been a different table to the one I was on then, as no one mentioned the fact the player had announced he had KK before he shoved on my table.  He got a caller anyway, and the KK held.  He also got lucky with AJ v AQ and somehow managed to hang on and win a seat.

At the time I thought it was a bit of a stupid thing to do, and if it had affected me I might have made a fuss about it.  Next time it happens I will be taking a screen-shot of the table and chat and reporting it.

That one kinoboshi me toons was in the final sat. He was incredibly lucky to get a seat, he shoved K6 on button with last 6k, 2 callers, king high wins. Then shoves AJ v AQ and gets there, then tells table he has KK snd before all of that he tells table of 44.

Not sure what I make if it, but don't play sats anyway.

Did he jsut type "KK" and "44" into the chat box?

If so he could well have been on MSn/facebook/whatever else either to someone who is railing him OR more worryingly someone who is on the same table?

No, it wasn't a mistake. He typed "I've got KK - good luck everyone."

But yes, there's nothing stopping people telling others on the same table what they have on Skype or any other IM platform.  It'd be naive to think it doesn't happen a lot.

Ah in that case I hope poker karma comes round and punts him in the baws :)
