Title: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: Nico29 on January 03, 2013, 09:22:03 PM
Thought I'd make this thread for ppl to share their thoughts.

Thinking Rylan is a good bet for this, but missed the 3-1 yesterday and not sure if I want to take the 5-2 now.

Worried he could be 6-4 by end of night though!

Price is crashing and but happy to let him go for now.

Sigh @ Frankie, I remember when he was a good jockey.

Have no idea here but it's gonna be a good series imo. Razor v Frankie, Razor v Paula, Razor v Lacey, should be entertaining.

Do wish they'd leave the format alone though.

Taken 2-1 on rylan, can't see another winner tbh.

During week 2 or 3 of the live shows, Rylan did the commentary for the rest of the contestants as they attempted the crossbar challenge on Soccer AM, back then I was not a fan but thought his banter was decent. Since then he can do no wrong, only problem I can see is he may be too full of himself as he displayed in the Spencer arrival. The backstabbing, maybe hilarious although may grate on those to vote against when it matters.

I did, he is now in to 6.8 2nd favourite.

Have been sat playing poker all night, so not sure what he did to cause the drift or for him to come back.

The guru chompy will be along soon to explain it all.

Probably the layers thought, surely we have got some celebs in this country that can keep this thing in our green and pleasant. And laid him accordingly.

One by one a series of freaks and weirdos were wheeled out and we all realized he had a great chance!!

I've just been sent someone's conspiracy theory about CBB betting, thought you might like to read it:

Inside information at work on Celebrity Big Brother?

Never mind the horse racing. Maybe Chris Bell and the BBC should be looking at the integrity of Celebrity Big Brother (CBB) markets on the exchanges.

Call me a fool but I’ve taken an interest in CBB – currently being aired on C5. And – call me a nincompoop – I’ve involved myself in one or two of the CBB markets on Betfair. We’re only a few days into the event and I’m already wondering if the playing field is level….

Last night saw the first eviction from the Big Brother house – with 3 participants up for the phone vote: Frankie Dettori, an American couple I’ve never heard of and Paula Hamilton.

I don’t know who knows what when it comes to these phone votes. I’m not sure how the information food-chain is configured, who stands where in its hierarchy or exactly when they get to know the outcome of what the rest of us are betting on.

One thing I do know is that a list of the exchange punters who were backing Paula Hamilton down to odds of 1.01 (1/100) in the minutes leading up to the announcement of the vote result would make for very interesting reading indeed.

In my book it’s 1.01 that at least some of the exchange punters who profited most in the ‘1st Eviction’ market knew the outcome of the phone vote – or at least which way the wind was blowing – sufficiently well in advance of the rest of the market to take advantage on the exchanges.

Making a mockery of fair play….

Looking at the market in the final moments before voting closed was a bit like looking at the death throes of a typical ‘Next Manager’ market – with the prices telling you which guy’s got the job before the official announcement is made.

Sure, there were only 3 up for last night’s vote and Frankie Dettori was nailed on to survive. But to these eyes the American married-couple are/were just as grotesque and depressing as Paula Hamilton and the public had just as many reasons to give them the bullet.

The bottom line is that Hamilton was never a genuine 1.01 shot. It was a much more open contest than that. She was only that price because people who already knew the outcome of the vote were piling on at ever-decreasing odds in the knowledge that they couldn't lose. That’s my contention.

Betfair should be looking into this issue – and identifying punters with an uncanny knack of calling CBB markets correctly in the minutes before a market closes and who demonstrate a willingness to back their view whatever the price. And then Betfair should act accordingly.

If Betfair are not prepared to acknowledge this issue or deal with it appropriately then they should close the markets and refuse to bet on Big Brother events because the situation, as it stands, makes an absolute mockery of fair-play and straight-dealing.

Quite liking Razor right now, he's got the support of Soccer A.M too.  Haven't seen another TV show supporting any other contestant, but i wonder how many people who watch soccer am would actually vote?  The small parts i've seen (about 40 minutes all series) he comes across well.  Hope im wrong though as i've bet on Rylan when he was put up as a bet at 7/4

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: Chompy on January 13, 2013, 10:17:23 AM
Razor had a hardman moment last night which won't have helped his cause tbh. The young girlies and voting grannies will not have been pleased.

Could make a case for going back in on Rylan at 10-11 with Laddies but will leave it.

The house votes again today and it's long odds on Heidi/Spencer will be put up against Rylan and Claire.

In that case I'd go 1-10 Spidey, 8-1 Claire, 50-1 Rylan for Wednesday's eviction.

On the night Rylan will be cheered to the rafters by the chimps-with-banners and not be any bigger than 4-6, maybe even shorter. As long as nothing major happens in the meantime obv.

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: BigAdz on January 14, 2013, 05:58:14 AM
I think maybe young girlies and grannies don't bet, Razor into clear second fav.

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: Chompy on January 14, 2013, 10:04:06 AM
Got the eviction betting all wrong. If it was a vote to evict, rather than a vote to save, I think we'd have different betting in this case.

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: MANTIS01 on January 14, 2013, 11:34:03 AM
Razor's hardman moment was vs Spencer so people up and down the land would've been fist pumping it. He then showed his soft centre by apologising to the nasty weird American and being remorseful in the diary room. People will love him. The thing to remember about Razor is the man has drawn a face on his belly. I mean there is a lot of win in that.

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother

Was 8/1 when I posted, best priced 11/2 right now.  Enjoyed him being waxed last night lol.  Haven't had a penny on him though, quite big on rylan so may have a saver.  Saw Toby savage tweeting 'razor to win' too, seems to have a fair bit of support in the sporting world.  Could do with James Arthur and the like to start asking people to vote for rylan!

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: Doobs on January 14, 2013, 12:00:23 PM
Had a save on Razor at 9.2/9.4 on betfair.  The book looks pretty bad due to Ryan's non performance.

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: a.sparrow on January 14, 2013, 12:19:39 PM
I have £100 on rylan at 7/4 and £85 on at 11/8 .  Nearly topped up some more at evens a couple of days ago with ladbrokes but the price didnt last.  Thinking of having £40 on. Razor at 11/2, can't see anyone else winning it tbh.  But as we are on a sports forum and we are sporting men, is the view in razor to win jaded? Will the majority of people who vote on this stuff bits for him? I can Definately see rylan getting votes, from the Essex crowd, crap tv like the only way is Essex and his X factor fans.

I had a tenner on Razor at 12/1 at the start, expecting to sell it for about £60/£70 if he made top 3.

haven't been watching it at all, but happened to flick it on yesterday as he was being waxed. Dropped from 7.8 to 6.4 in real time :)

Still not going to be watching it, but happy to take some advice on taking that £60/£70 if he gets there or letting it ride for the £120

Title: Re: Celebrity Big Brother
Post by: a.sparrow on January 14, 2013, 02:01:57 PM
I'm pretty sure he'll get top 3, there really is no competition in the house.  Rylan having a good day? Odds seemed to have shortened.

Just an FYI to anyone looking to back razor to win, best priced 11/2 - it's prob worth backing him as the top man instead at 6/1 on betvictor, as i can't see any of the women winning it.

I'm not convinced Bazza.

A more likely explanation is that when a bet on a relatively thin market is posted on blonde, & 6, 8 or 10 folks all immediately go to that bookie & place the bet, that is the trigger to draw the bookies attention to a price that is ool.

I would be very surprised if it were blonde-related, just thin markets & a bunch of peeps all placing the same bet at the same time.

Lol mate, i'd like to call it cabin feaver due to the snow, however since I whacked this bet on and watched my first episode of CBB i'm ashamed to admit it's become my (not so) guilty pleasure!  Come 9pm i'l be flicking between CBB and Valencia vs Real !

I'm wondering if it Rylan swings back out to evens if I'l top up again or stick with what i've got.

Btw even though i never post on the other forum we use i'l still back your horse tips so keep them coming, and i hope your recovery is going well.

Tricia now down to 3/1 in places and I'm more inclined to take notice of this sort of move once it becomes vote for the winner.

Be a joke if she wins it though tbh, she's been dull at best.

Bet victor jumping on this in the hope he doesn't win and gets then out of a hole I expect.  Tweeted just now saying its disgusting an that he was probably getting coaching from his manager on what to say when he went back to the house.

You'd think it was fairly set in stone when betfair add a market for the winner without Rylan.

Yikes! A genuine nit would off got out at 1.39!

My take, without having looked at any forums, is that Rylan will have been granted permission to rehearse before he went in the house - not that he'll ever be able to sing obv - and that this shouldn't be a problem.

The only concern is that the banner-waving voting chimps will think that he's somehow been cheating by not being locked in the house 24/7.

This is always the danger with reality betting; there's always something that can crop up out of nowhere.

I did not see that coming. Genuinely had no idea. Gillian was so blase' about it. What else? De Torri been nipping out for the 1630 at Kempton? Ruddock nipping out for a quick fight down the pub? Flabbergasted

Yeah, although they did have an X-factor "winner without Ella" market before she went. Think Rylan's got it though.

They also had a winner without the short quiet bloke market too

Ryan Maloney is 10-1-was 12's to finish runner up with Ladbrokes tonight, he's been laid at prices down to 6's on betfair, 10's is way ool, even 8's isnt terrible right now-you can lay at under 7-1-albeit the market isnt hugely liquid. 10s is value either way. 9-1 also with hills.

The same guy is 4-1 with the same firm to finish 3rd tonight and has being laid at 3's and under on betfair, not as ool as the above but again a reasonable bet-ive done both.

Finally the market for fifth place/next eviction-same thing, has shown money for razor all day. Available at 11-2 with joke james its now a best priced 4-1 with coral but thats being matched at under 3's on betfair, another value bet imo.

But obv the first one is def mainly worth a punt, in my experience money backing under book prices on betfair for these kinda markets is worth following, and we are getting 10-1 on something ppl are taking less than 6's on.

Sighs if Ryan had finished 2nd it would have been the absolute jackpot.

Still a very profitable evening!
