Title: Like Father, Like Son - Deauville (No Mark Up) SOLD OUT
Post by: edgascoigne on January 09, 2013, 03:50:13 PM
Hi,

I am Ed Gascoigne - a Sheffield Wednesday supporting, tweed-wearing, sports betting analyst. Below is a picture of me at Royal Ascot (in before "thin") with.......my father. AKA "the father". We will be travelling to Deauville (along with the Posh one) at the backend of this month to serve it up to the frogs.

I am posting here with a familiar concept, but with a zesty new twist.....

I am posting here to sell 30% of mine and my father's action, in the below tournaments at the forthcoming France Poker Series Deauville (from 31st Jan-3rd Feb):

Thu 31st Jan - FPS Main Event 1100Eur (Day 1B)
Fri 1st Feb    - FPS Side Event 330Eur
Sun 3rd Feb  - FPS Side Event 330Eur

Obviously these are prone to clash. In any such event any unplayed stakes will obviously be returned.

The buy-ins come to 3520Eur, and we are looking to sell 30% at spot. I am locking the exchange rate at 1.214Eur (allowing 1% for forex costs) which means each percentile shall cost £29.

Ian's poker CV is long and illustrious (ish). After graduating from the £10r at Notts Gala, Ian found his spiritual (and at times almost literal) home in DTD. Playing there since 2007, he has attained a level of cult (at least I think that's what they're saying when I hear people talk about him in the carpark) surpassed only by Rastafish and OMGDaveNisbet. Ian's poker resume can be seen below. NB. Outside of that which is listed on THM he is 'bang in form' after winning a couple of Incredible Hundreds, a Super 50 to go with the GUKPT/SPT scores in the last few months. Casual.

I did ask the father for his OPR and Sharkscope records, but, incredibly, he didn't seem to know what I was referring to. Online poker isn't his bag, though I do believe Stato has carded a few respectable results under the alias "iangascoigne".....

My poker CV is short, sweet and rubbish. I did however win a 300Eur comp last time we were out there. I don't get to play as much as I would like but play £1-2 and £1-3 down here in London I would guess just shy of once a week and generally feel very comfortable. I speak fluent French which, though it may seem a grossly salient point, I think helps an awful lot in terms of understanding the feelings/emotions/thoughts of what is at times/often, from experience, some fairly weird plays.

http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=194341

We'll be playing whether we sell or not, so please feel no pressure!! I know that having backers helps my game and focus, and I think the father is hoping the same.

Flame away.

All booked, leaving 20.5% up for grabs.

@Titty - Father's not a big fan of typing lengthy posts so would have to teach his PA to use Blonde first. I'll ask him.

Father has just asked if I might let you know....

"There will be plenty of trip reporting, photos, hand histories and restaurant reviews".

Will start a thread closer to the time over in "The Rail"...I will ensure faithful recounting of hands*

* DISCLAIMER : assuming Ian can remember them himself by the time he talks through them with me. I'm safe putting this bit here as the font is too small for him to read without his reading glasses.

Just the ones I changed to go to Spain for new year then forgot to take with me  ;noflopshomer;

Probably got about €1k. Perhaps a tad less.

I can bring them to DTD at the weekend if you want what I've got left.

Just send me £58 then Ralph.

I'll give Ian €335 to cover our combined 9.5%

Can't do this for anyone else as it'll confuse things and also I've just sold my €€€€ to Alex.
