Post by: BorntoBubble on January 13, 2013, 05:34:01 PM
I have an esta that i got back in 2011 when I was going to Orlando. I'm going Vegas next month and it is still within the experation date (it runs out in march) but it says I'm staying in Orlando not Vegas does this matter?

No, its just permission to enter the country that's all.

Shouldnt be an issue but I thought you could edit these things to change where you were going?

You need to edit it online.  Use this link https://esta.cbp.dhs.gov/esta/application.html?execution=e1s1 and select Retrieve Application.

On my last esta I travelled multiple times without editing a destination, was never an issue at immigration.

No you don't, I've been 4 times to different destinations with the same destination/hotel from my first application, its just permission to enter the country that's all.

Ok no problem and are there any silly regulations like you need to have an extra month on your esta I know sometimes visa's are like that I return on the 1st of match an it expires on the 10th march!

https://help.cbp.gov/app/answers/detail/a_id/1223/related/1/session/L2F2LzEvc2lkLzVuUHYyamds/~/esta-expiration-notice

As long as its valid when you enter the USA your're covered.

It's not mandatory, but avoids you being asked additional questions when you go through immigration (if the officer is in the mood to make it difficult!)
