good luck to Neil Channing

15 left in Event 6 the six max with $110,000 up top

He is above average (10-10 v 8-8 on 8-10-10 got him in the hunt..)

@senseichanning tells the story of his tournament, and a good read it is too

Just in case anyone can't be arsed to read back on my Twitter feed -

With 108 players left avg was about 42k at 500/1000. I got 52k in on Qd5s3d with 55 vs AhAd and it came ...d...d. I was out. I counted my chips three times and the lady's twice and she had me by 1000.

The floormen here like to meddle and get involved and as I was walking away he stopped the dealer from pushing the pot and came over. He counted everything out and found I had 1400 left. I'm at least 75% sure he was wrong but the lady shouted me to come back (I was ten yards away).

The blinds went up at that moment to 600/1200-200 and I shoved Jh7h and flopped a flush draw straight draw which became a straight with a sf draw on the turn.I quadrupled.

 I shoved A10 and got through. I 3-bet a lively opener with 44 and got a fold. I shoved 33 and flopped a set.

I now had between 30% and 50% of average for two hours. 48 got paid and within an hour of the bubble I never had more than 9bbs. I reckoned I'd done pretty well to cash.

Now have average with 9 left shooting at $110k ftw.

 No chips and a chair.

Thanks guys (9 get paid). Ran pretty bad playing 4-handed lost with AsKs and 99 (vs 99 and JJ) in the 6-max, then I played pretty badly in the rebuy and got lucky (busted Eoghan O'Dea in a hand I played terrible.

The rebuy here used to get loads of $1000 and $2000 punters but with a triple add-on and the opportunity to go $2000 a time when you buy-in they have all realised it's tough for them. Less than 100 runners and everyone in for $4000+ with just about 20 one or two bullett guys. That means a harder field.

Toby busted in 14th (I think) about 3 minutes after he gave his tennis tickets away (Ian Fraser run good right there). He watched it in his room.

I busted Sirwatts in the last hand. The others seemed pleased.

Mr Channing eventually busted in 5th place, for $24,000, to add to his 9th for $8,000 the previous day.

For those interested in how it went, he tweeted regular updates on @SenseiChanning

His Twitter feed whilst he was playing that Final Table was bizarre. He was Tweeting each interesting hand, & folks were getting on his case about BBP matters - whilst he was on a big money Final Table. The joys of running an Online Room.

Congratulations Mr C, next time, improve 4 more places.

The 2013 Aussie Millions $100,000 Challenge attracted 21 players. Only one of those players decided to take advantage of the re-entry format and Andrew Robl is certainly glad he did.

Monday night Robl eliminated Igor Kurganov in heads-up play to capture the $100,000 Challenge title, the first live win of his career, and earn $1,000,000. Robl was the first player eliminated on Day 1 and almost didn’t re-enter.

“I was a little bit upset and the last thing I wanted to do was sit there and grind a poker tournament,”Robl said of his decision to fire a second bullet. “I went and had dinner with my girlfriend and started feeling better and decided to come give it another shot.”

Seven players started the final day in contention for the $1,000,000 first place prize. Tobias Reinkemeier was the first to go, lasting just 20 minutes on Day 2. He was followed to the rail by Vanessa Selbst in sixth place and Niklas Heinecker on the bubble in fifth.

Once the bubble had burst it took a little over 2.5 hours to lose another player. Dan Shak, who had crested over 1 million chips earlier in the day, was eliminated by Robl in fourth place, earning $237,000 in the process. Shak has now cashed in events with a buy-in of at least $100,000 five times including three cashes in the $100K Challenge.

With a $290,000 difference between second and third it took some to get another elimination. After 90 minutes of play Masa Kagawa, who began the day as chipleader, was headed to the cashier window with a third place finish worth $320,000. Kagawa was another victim of Robl’s after getting the last of his chips in holding K T against Robl’s J T on a board of T 8 7. The 9 on the turn gave Robl a straight and after the 6 fell on the river Kagawa was eliminated.

The final hand saw Kurganov, who won the EPT Grand Final High Roller in April, call off the last of his stack with the board showing 9 4 2 3. Robl tabled A 5 for a wheel while Kurganov tabled 4 3 for two pair. The Q was of no help to Kurganov and he was eliminated in second place, earning $610,000.

Final Table Payouts

    Andrew Robl – $1,000,000
    Igor Kurganov – $610,000
    Masa Kagawa – $320,000
    Dan Shak – $237,000

The main event has reached the end of Day 3 with 36 left

Patrick Antonius is well in the hunt

Top Chip Counts
1    Ray Ellis       1,044,000
2    Patrik Antonius       957,000
3    Mervin Chan       943,000
4    Ang Pangleng       928,000
5    Jan Collado       908,000
6    Brandon Adams       739,000
7    David Yan       696,000
8    James Obst       660,000
9    Damian Baldi       624,000
10    Shoshiro Karita       608,000

"On Thursday, the 2013 Aussie Millions Main Event recommenced for Day 3 action with just 68 players of a 629-player field remaining. Not only were they all looking to make the money at 64, but each hoped to make the final 36 and punch their ticket to Day 4—which will mark the start of six-handed play in the tournament. It only took three levels for 33 players to hit the rail, and during that time Ray Ellis emerged as the chip leader with 1,044,000, though the fearsome Finn Patrik Antonius is hot on his heels with 957,000."

Joey was the biggest Client on the blondepoker Cardroom.

Unwittingly - certainly not his fault - he was a central part of the chain of events which bought about the closure of our cardroom, after he was "guilty"of winning a lot of money at our cash tables.

Malaysia might not be the home of international poker, but that didn’t seem to worry Mervin “The Cat” Chan as he stormed to victory at yesterday’s Aussie Millions Main Event finale.
Surrounded by some of the game’s best practitioners, including Patrik Antonius and Dan Shak, representing some well established poker nations, Chan went into the final table with fourth largest chip stack.

Nestled comfortably in the middle of the pack, Chan soon sprung his first attack of the final when he eliminated David Yan in sixth with pocket kings. Yan’s elimination seemed to cause an air of tension to sweep over the table as players did their best to avoid the fate of being felted.

Almost six hours of Yan left the tournament area it was Jarrod Glennon’s turn to collect his consolation prize. A confrontation with Joseph Cabret meant the Australian was forced to swap his chips for a cheque worth $290,000.

Two high profile eliminations then occurred as Dan Shak and Patrik Antonius left in succession, leaving Cabret and Chan to battle for the title.

Bucking the earlier pace, the heads-up match last just a few hands before Chan bested his opponent with trips.

With his opponent unable to catch his flush on the river, Chan scooped the final pot and banked a career defining $1,600,000 top prize.

Aussie Millions Main Event Final Result:
1st Mervin Chan $1,600,000
2nd Joseph Cabret $1,000,000
3rd Patrik Antonius $600,000
4th Dan Shak $400,000
5th Jarrod Glennon $290,000
6th David Yan $220,000
7th Jay Tan $150,000
