Title: NBC Heads-Up sweepstake Post by: dino1980 on January 24, 2013, 12:03:33 PM Anyone interested in doing a $10 sweepstake for NBC Heads-Up championship? Random draw (mod assisted?).
Starts today in Vegas, but not sure exactly what time. Barry Greenstein - who's in the second bracket - tweeted that his game against Ben Lamb is at 2.30pm, so perhaps 12pm local time (8pm UK). Cut-off time for entries = 7pm Given short lead time to the event I doubt we'll get 64 individual entrants so suggest anyone interested can have up to 3 horses (if it doesn't look like selling out will up to 4). If all 64 slots get taken suggest payouts of 1st $400, 2nd $240. Have attached the bracket, no idea if readable or not as had to re-size, but it's out there on the usual poker news sites. With play set to kick off later today, those in attendance were keen to know which player they’d be facing first in the $20,000 invitational. However, before the draw began it was announced that Daniel Negreanu would not be competing in this year’s event due to personal commitments with David 'Doc' Sands taking his place. With the formalities out of the way, the draw began in earnest. Of the first round matches there is an interesting selection including Viktor Blom versus Andrew Litchtenberger, Isaac Haxton versus Justin Bonomo, Phil Ivey versus Phil Laak and Jason Mercier versus Dan Smith. All the first round matches will be played out today before the next two rounds commence on January 25. Following that, the final flurry of match-ups will take place on January 26 when a winner will be crowned.
