Really???!?!?

I mean, each to their own obviously.

But surely wrestling is just totally staged acting.

How can it be the best night of anyone's year?

obv im sad as hell, and its pathetic compared to what is was in 98-01, but i still love it

It's the only "Sport" where a man can be buried alive, or a group of scantily clad totally hot divas have a pillow fight in the middle of a ring in front of 80,000 people and it be normal..

Haven't watched WWE in years but looking forward to watching this..

Hope the Ultimate Warrior comes back and owns...

The Rock FTW..

That's exactly what it is.  But people seem to think that's a negative and a reason not to watch it.  I'd much rather watch the royal rumble than a Haye/Harrison or some other such crap looking for paydays.

But surely the fact that the result is already known to the participants mean cheering one side or the other is completely pointless and makes you feel a wee bit silly?

You suspend disbelief, as you would do while watching a film.

I'm struggling to think of alternatives to Cena that lead to WM main events.

You don't cheer (or riot in your bedroom) when you're watching a film!

TBF The "Peoples Elbow" should always end a match, I mean a move like that administered by a specialist should cause certain death... but on the Flip side of things The Macho Man Randy Savage did inflict 5 elbow drops off the top rope on the Ultimate Warrior yet still the Warrior got up and fought on, eventually winning the match and ending the Macho Man randy Savages WWF Career (Circa Wrestlemania 7)

Paul - Coolsportz or 1channel for the links..

Ugh. Not happy. Rumble was okay, but not too many surprises bar Jericho and the only feud they started was Dallas/Barrett. Pretty shitty ending with Ryback; Ziggler/Cena would have been much better. The Kane/Bryan yes/no spot was funny. Main Event was fine, but the PPV on the whole was annoyingly predictable, but I guess it has to be if they're going to set up the big money WM matches. Would prefer a triple threat Main Event rather than seeing Cena/Rock again, unless Rock wins again and Cena turns heel, but that's not going to happen. Will be interesting to see what they do at Elimination Chamber; I imagine they'll have a Rock/Punk rematch instead given the controversy of The Shield.

Would love to see them salvage a triple threat for the main event.  Can't see it happening though. All a bit meh for me. At this stage last year I was looking forward to the build to wrestle mania, now nothing really interests me.  Cena/rock, Brock/hhh, Punk/taker? Meh.  Saying that Jericho and plenty of Bryan on my tv screen is a big plus.
