My HUD lags when I'm playing zoom and is always a few hands behind.

Im using HEM1 anyone know the reason/solutions? I have the most up to date version of HEM1

Zoom has to wait for the hand to play out till after you have folded?

The HH's themselves are always slightly in delay and I assuem this is where HEM gets its data?

I mean the people at the table arent the people on my HUD its showing people from a few hands ago.

It still stores all the hands etc its just the HUD being wrong in game that is annoying me and is causing me to lay HUDless effectively

yeah alot of my friends who use it say it is awful and buggy and annoying. <3 HEM1

it's got to the point where I open HEM2 it crawls to an open and then if you actually try and interact in any way, clicking any button it just goes yeh ok now 'program not responding' and you have to wait literally 6 weeks before the click you did takes effect. beyond frustrating. also the second you try and interact with a db of only marginal size it just freezes up like mad.

why are you persisting with it?

because i've paid for it, it provides newer stats and functionality etc


just use hem1 to have a hud up when grinding donkies.

tis pretty frustrating not even being able to access databases to export/save/compress them or even just view some of the reports :(

I'm 20 days into the trial of it and I think it's excellent.

I hated it when they first released it, but it's much more intuitive to use now (and Zoom works fine, although I'm currently having the same issue as in the OP on Rush tables on Full Tilt).

Caveat to the above after reading TitBean's later comments, I started with a new blank database so only have c15,000 hands in it, so may well experience some of those issues as the DB grows.

oh ya I have experienced problems in small dbs and stuff, worked brilliantly for the first while for me, to the point where it was an effort to move back to HEM1.

I have HEM2 and it works perfectly, but i had to buy a new computer with an SSD for that to happen!

I dont know, im out atm. Will update when I'm home about 11ish. I downloaded that beta MC and doubleup suggested (pretty sure I already had it though) so I will check it out again later.

Ok i remember i had this problem and this fixed it iirc....

For W7 and Vista you must set \holdem manager\dbcontrolpanel.exe, holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe are started as administrator. Run the windows explorer and navigate to your Holdemmanager installation directory. Right click the executables and select properties... then select "Run as admin" from the compatibility tab.

Add exceptions to the windows firewall for holdemmanager.exe and hmhud.exe, even if the firewall is turned off. If you have a 3rd party firewall, do the equivalent or uninstall it temporarily.

Make sure your video card drivers and windows auto updates are fully updated. Run a manual Windows Update and install all updates, including all .net framework updates.


Turn off User Account Control

HUD still doesnt work, will have to try Lewis' suggestion although it looks very complex and I am such a PC noob, so I might break my PC in the process :D

SSD fixed it for me, not a PC noob by any means though.

Not recommended btw unless you absolutely have to.

So are you guys telling me your HEM hud updates quick enough to use it preflop?

Mine is on my wannabe 'super computer' and it takes around 20-30 seconds to update... Which is quite a few hands in zoom.

Yeh this basically is essential for it to work well.

I dont have SSD but have quad core and 8gb and mine works fine, power is essential along with SSD. Running a live db constantly importing and querying it while multitabling is resource heavy.

What is SSD please, just about to update HEM1. Have a brand new, well few months old laptop, some good looking advice in here but just want to check I got all the details before I start any changes. When i played Zoom and Rush it just gave me the HUD with no info :(

ssd is solid state drive. type of hard drive that is relatively new ish and more expensive and works much faster than a normal hard drive.


very useful when trying to do database intensive work especially when you start to get into the really big databases.

I have a strong feeling this SSD stuff is all hype.

I have ran HM2 on a very budget laptop with no issues. Hud snap comes up etc

hem2 is joke slow currently without an ssd. it's so tilting im back on hem1.

First thing I do with a new computer.

Don't know about HEM2, but a SSD makes a massive difference with Photoshop (which can be very memory intensive) when it runs out of physical memory and has to start using space on the hard drive as virtual memory.

I've basically adapted by just not using a hud live any more, only for review... or in big pots/ long decisions its then updated by then.

It's not the worse thing in the world as its stopped me using stats I dont properly understand to justify 4bt-ing 28o because "he 3bts too much" or some other random bull.

now you just do it without stats instead? ;)

I'm pretty sure its something to do with settings on the computer. That guide i posted is slightly confusing, i swear i saw an easier one when i did it but cant find it now. Sigh! Anyways dont bother with zoom, everyones solid.
