Title: Laptop help please Post by: Geo the Sarge on January 28, 2013, 06:48:26 PM Have turned off and on many times with no joy.
Sons laptop - HP Pavilion G series, only purchased in September. On starting it has black screen with message "Please install an operating system on your hard disk" Hard Disk <3FO> Tried the F10 at start up for rebooting options but no joy, have looked at the HP and other forums but is pretty much gobbledeygook to me. Is it a case of failed hard drive that needs replaced or is there something I can try before taking it back? Appreciated Geo Title: Re: Laptop help please Post by: AndrewT on January 28, 2013, 06:53:27 PM Sounds like dead hard drive - as it's still in warranty just send it back.
Hopefully there's nothing too important on it. Bought from John Lewis and has 2 year parts and labour guarantee so shouldn't have any problems Geo Title: Re: Laptop help please Post by: kinboshi on January 28, 2013, 07:25:56 PM John Lewis are usually excellent with their customer service. So wouldn't foresee any problems.
