Title: Samsung NC10 HELP!!! Please...........
Post by: taximan007 on January 30, 2013, 05:15:58 AM
I have had a Samsung NC10 netbook for about 2 years now absolutely no problems.

On the back of this I was more than happy to buy a 2nd one from one of our work collleagues for £40, they allowed me to have it for a couple of days to make sure it was working OK, it is in excellent condition there is a slight hairline crack on the casing near to the screen but this doesn't seem to be causing any problems. I did a Samsung restore on it taking it back to original settings and clearing all data that was on it, I downloaded Firefox, AVG2013 and Yahoo Messenger as the main reason for buying it is to take home for the family to use as the PC their has seen better days.

On the netbook there is a playcam and this was working fine, then I opened the (built in) webcam in YM and this was working fine for about 30 seconds then froze and the following message appeared at the bottom of the screen:

THIS DEVICE CAN PERFORM FASTER

This USB device can perform faster if you connect it to a HI-SPEED USB 2.0 Port for list of available ports click here

on clicking on the message the following appears

The Namuga 1.3M Webcam is a HI SPEED USB device and will function at reduced speed when plugged into a non HI-SPEED port

The hubs shown in bold type have free ports that can support HI-SPEED USB device:

Intel (R) 82801G (ICH7 family) USB enhanced host controller -27cc

USB Root Hub (8 ports)

Recommendation

Disconnect the Namuga 1.3M webcam from its current port and then connect it to one of the ports on a hub shown in bold type

and when I turn on the playcam now all I get is a blank grey screen!

I am getting confused when it says disconnect the cam as there is nothing connected externally as it is a built in webcam.

I have checked as much as i know against my other NC10 and everything appears to be reading the same.

Many thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer.

I HAVE TIOATIOA  ;)

Have you tried switching it off and on?
