If we're shoving here aren't we bluiffing nearly all the time? We may get folds from jj-kk but how often do you expect to get called by worse? Title: Re: 500nl Zoom, Thin Turn shove? Title: Re: 500nl Zoom, Thin Turn shove? Post by: dwayne110 on February 13, 2013, 12:04:37 AM He's reraised you pre, with a stack of $511 to your $1849, so we have to assume strong a strong range. Hands he 'might' fold (JJ,QQ) but I reckon he's turning up with AA/AK/AQ more often here, particularly given the flat to your raise on the flop. So I think most of the time you're bluffing into his range of hands on the turn. A turn shove is often going to be interpreted as an attempt to rep the Ace, or semi-bluffing Q-J type hands. If you are continuing I think a bet of $175-180 achieves the same as the all in, as to him you'll look pot committed anyway?

I persoanlly think you need dynamic for that so rush aint the place imo Title: Re: 500nl Zoom, Thin Turn shove? Post by: PutYouOnAK/AQ on February 13, 2013, 12:17:19 AM Disagree that villain will show up with ak/aq nearly always gonna fold these otf as these hands have v little equity vs our perceived range.

Title: Re: 500nl Zoom, Thin Turn shove? Post by: skolsuper on February 13, 2013, 11:24:49 AM Yeah turn shove definitely doesn't work as a bluff, so title is accurate. In general the bar needs to be set pretty high for a value bet as you need to be called by more worse hands than better (there could be some merit in betting for protection). Since villain can have a very large number of better hands that call, I think this is very unlikely to be a good spot for a thin value bet, even if all his 9x and Tx are calling (also unlikely). I way prefer check/fold, as imo check/raises get more respect in 3b pots, or if you really think you're good most of the time then check/shove is better than just shoving imo.
Also r/folding pre, might 4b/f versus a lot of people at normal 6m but I feel like at zoom there aren't many 3b/f's about, although I haven't played it much. Title: Re: 500nl Zoom, Thin Turn shove? Post by: pleno1 on February 13, 2013, 12:43:43 PM zoom500 plays way different to any game, ever. KTo is in my 4betting range as standard, but i defend wider vs these hero's.
