I would think you would be better off just playing a couple of $200 on your own dime.

That's effectively what you would be playing but in a theoretically  tougher player pool.

Should be some decent size 200's out there I assume.

Like pokerfan said, you're probably best just going out there and playing whatever comps you're comfortable with.

Should you happen to get a result while you're there go and play the $500 at Bellagio, or a $300 at Venetian.

www.allvegaspoker.com (http://www.allvegaspoker.com) has everything you'll need and you'll be good to go!

That's all the tournaments at the better card rooms on the strip as they are now, but they may change slightly between now and then.

Aria

1pm: $125 $10k chips and a 30 minute clock (Daily)

7pm: $125 $10k chips and a 30 minute clock (Daily)

Bellagio

2pm: $125 10k chips and a 25minute clock (Mon-Thur)

2pm: $545 10k chips and a 40 minute clock (Fri/Sat)

2pm: $335 10k chips and a 35 minute clock (Sun)

Caesars

9am: $70 3k chips and a 15min clock (Daily)

12pm: $110 10k chips and a 20 min clock (Daily)

2pm: $235 15k chips and a 30 min clock (Sat/Sun)

4pm: $70 3k chips and a 15min clock (Daily)

7pm: $100 10k chips and a 20 min clock (Daily)

10pm: $80 7.5k chips and a 20 min clock (Daily)

Venetian

12pm: $150 12k chips and a 30 minute clock (Mon-Thurs)

12pm: $200 12k chips and a 30 minute clock (Sun)

12pm: $200 12k chips and a 30 minute clock (Fri) Bounty comp $25 pp

12pm: $300 12k chips and a 30 minute clock (Sat)

12pm: $500 15k chips and a 40 minute clock (First Saturday of the month only)

7pm: $120 8k chips and a 20 minute clock (Mon/Wed/Thur/Sat/Sun and 30 Minute levels after 3rd level)

7pm: $150 10k chips and a 30 minute clock (Tue) Bounty comp $25 pp

7pm: $300 12k chips and a 20 minute clock (Fri) Survivor tournament* 30 minute levels after 3rd level

*Tournament ends when there is exactly 10% of the field remaining. All remaining players will be awarded $1600 in casino chips. Any odd monies will be awarded as additional payouts.

Unless you've got some sort of record of proven success in tournaments, you're going to have difficulty selling to strangers.

Maybe try to sell to people you regularly play with.. that's how I first got staked into bigger tournaments.

Good luck.

If you really want to play a WSOP tournament (and who doesn't?) why not give some sattys a shot.

The smaller ones ($125 and $225 especially) are very very soft and with a bit of run good you'll win one.

No mate, unfortunately not :(

As Camel suggested, give the sats for the WSOP a spin if you fancy a shot at a bracelet event and with a bit of luck you'll bink a seat.

Maybe try and spin $200 up at cash Omaha or something. Loads of loose play and massive pots at the Venetian that time of year at $2 ($5) / $5. The Sats at The Rio are terrible value IMO. Hardly any chips and very fast clocks.

You might be able to get family and friends to buy small chunks of you.  A tenner here, £20 there - and it soon adds up.  Then use facebook or wherever to keep them updated as to your progress.  They'll probably love it for the sweat, even if they don't really understand poker or what it's all about.

They run satty sit and go's at the Rio. Mainly very soft

Rio daily 200s were incredible value last year, fairly quick but well worth playing.

Yeah agree with everyone else.  So many value comps in Vegas between 200/300 I think you should just go for those and just try to sell small pieces to friends if need be.

During WSOP time even the Aria 125s get pretty big fields.

No need to complicate things with selling massive amounts to various people and the hassle that comes with it for this kind of trip.

GL and maybe see you out there.  I'll be punting in the Rio 235 turbo probs.

Does the Rio run satellites for non-holdem events??

Its all good advice on what to play but I do think if Brookie wants to take a shot in one of the $1000/$1500 wsop events then I am pretty sure there will be people willing to have a punt with him.

Its almost unheard of that anyone who has the required 300 contributions and posts an honest, open and thought out op gets given a knock back.

Give it a go and see imo

Seems most people get staked by providing a well thought out post, although it may be hard with no track record. Do you have any on-line stats that will help? Either way in answer to your question:

1) Decide exactly what tournaments you want to play and the stakes you are asking for. Do the maths and the percentages; Sell at spot, nice and simple, no mark up. no hassle.
2) Post on Facebook that you are looking for stakers. Give full details of the torn and the percentages available.
If your friends and family aren't looking to back you then its a bad start...
3) Now you have your magic 300 posts place a post on the staking thread. Sell at spot. Provide detailed information. Go overboard. Check other posts for examples of good and bad posts. Make yours good. Have a cut off date and make sure you explain that if you dont make the level you need you will have to pull the deal by the cut off date. Give it 3 weeks. You can always try again.
4) If it works great, your in. If it doesn't take the advice of other posters. Play to your level. It makes more sense overall.
And remember you have nothing to lose, save for a small bit of dented pride?

When you click quote.

You get

[Quote - post information]  THE TEXT [// Quote with just one backslash]

Then you add your extra text after the 'close quote' part.

Posting BEFORE  the brackets puts your text at the top of the post. Posting in between the two quote brackets puts your text inside the quoted post and makes things look weird.
