Title: Grind up the stakes nitring style Post by: ShipItHollaBallaaa on February 19, 2013, 10:17:33 PM Hi guys,
I'm v new here and pretty much don't know anyone here, but this actually seems like an awesome uk poker community with some v good players and some v good upcoming players too. But ye seeing as I am so new and unknown to all of you, doubt anyone will care but I just fancy making a blog which sees me grinding up the stakes, going from micro grinder to hopefully fulltime pro, and hopefully get to know some awesome people along the way. So firstly my story in short:- Started playing a lot of live pokers back 2009 when I was rly fishy, somehow seemed to do ok and was soon rolling in the moneys playing 1/2 live cash and local small tourneys round my area. Did that for a couple of years casually ballin about whilst at uni, never taking it too seriously cos obv i thought I was amazing and could never lose cos I was too good. If I was ever in need of cash I'd go down the casino and spin up a few hundred no probs. Mind you I had my downswings, but rly I just used to win loads....wish I had kept an actual log of how much I had won as I couldn't really put a finger on it from all the money i used to spend back in those days from going out and buying all my uni mates drinks everytime(and never receiving any back cos apparently they were busto students) and regularly spending £100+ on days out with my gf just because. After uni I was pretty much "playing pro" for a while until the inevitable downswing hit. Major life tilt, poker badbeats and other life circumstances caused me to go busto. So ye I got a job and got an online staking deal from a couple of my friends...they staked me 1k to play 10nl online..LOL This is when I found out I really was terrible at the pokers. Breaking even at 10nl for months until I lost my job in late October. In November 12 I just played online and something just clicked...I moved to reg tables from zoom and just started winning. Got a new job late Nov though so had to drop volume again :( So I beat 10nl, started mixing 16nl and started crushing that, mixed in 25nl and started doing well there too until the obv move up runbad. Either way I persevered and by early Jan my roll was 3k. I shipped back my friends their stake + profit and went it solo with a 1k roll playing 16nl and 25nl. Soon enough started shotting 50nl...but obv 50nl is rigged and I lost 18bi in a day... No worries though since then I've overcome that barrier and this month am seeming to run like baby jesus himself. Atm playing a mix of 25 and 50nl tables cos I cba waitlisintg and hopefully in the next couple of weeks shotting 100nl. Graphs: Since I started winning (http://i46.tinypic.com/30lc86q.jpg) This year: (http://i47.tinypic.com/21jvrs3.jpg) This month seems to be my biggest one yet as long as I don't downswing sometime soon..: (http://i45.tinypic.com/2vtb4n5.jpg) BB graph since winning: (http://i48.tinypic.com/kcie6o.jpg) I love graphs :) Basically in this thread I just plan to update my progress, post some lol hands cos I get them quite a lot, post some interesting hands where I don't know what to do and hopefully get to know some cool people. And if this is TLDR and no one cares then thats cool too :D Oh also, I play nitring, plz don't tell me to do otherwise...I have my reasons to play it :) Title: Re: Grind up the stakes nitring style Post by: AndrewT on February 19, 2013, 10:29:40 PM Good stuff.

What stats do you guys run?Ill post some rly sick hand histories tomorrow when I'm back from work and show you how nitty my kind of fullring is ;) Title: Re: Grind up the stakes nitring style Post by: BorntoBubble on February 20, 2013, 07:48:40 AM I play like 27/23/13 I'm not a winning player above 50nl and don't grind for a living! As can probably be seen! Pleno on here will probably be a good guy for you. He will probs try and get you to move to 6 max though
Title: Re: Grind up the stakes nitring style Post by: ShipItHollaBallaaa on February 20, 2013, 08:01:41 AM Ya that's pretty loose. I'm guessing probably similar to what my stats would prob be at 6m. Apart from the 3bet, 13 is pretty big!
I wanna beat 100nl first before trying to beat 6m Title: Re: Grind up the stakes nitring style Post by: BorntoBubble on February 20, 2013, 08:09:45 AM Ya that's pretty loose. I'm guessing probably similar to what my stats would prob be at 6m. Apart from the 3bet, 13 is pretty big! I wanna beat 100nl first before trying to beat 6m My 3 bet is skewed because I used to sit short a lot and 3 bet ship all in!!!! Whale was literally stacking off with anything. Anyways this came along with a host of other frustrating hands but I'm not gonna post a load of badbeats. Somehow ended the session +$130~ which was a nice 8bi recovery from my trough. Also played a satellite with my mate to the sunday500 and decided to chop if one of us binked...obv he binks weeee :) My aim for the month a couple of weeks ago was 3k+ table profits. Last month was my biggest winning online month which was $1415 table profits. Didn't manage to get a grind in yesterday due to me waking up suuuuper late, and then going for dinner and grinding some open chinese for with a couple of my mates all night. Literally ran sooo bad and haven't seen that many 1 outers in one night! This is my month as of now: (http://i49.tinypic.com/30hu8i0.jpg) So close yet soooo far from my goal. My volume is 60% 25nl and 40% 50nl. Really wanna smash my goal but haven't got long left at all, plus I'm just setting up my brand new laptop which I'm pretty excited about. Although it does have windows8 which is tilting =/ At least I can use hem2 now as I've got an SSD and decent amount of RAM :) Gl to me and my goal for the next few days! Title: Re: Grind up the stakes nitring style Post by: shipitonetime on February 26, 2013, 12:59:03 AM Rigged imo :P Nice graph! Keep up the good work, pity about your open face chinese graph..... Lmk what windows 8 is like.

Don't tilt me...you run tooo good at open face and I blow up too easy! Played a sesh on my desktop again today, hem kept fucking up by not showing huds or not refreshing them so in some hands i thought I was playing nits but they were actually fish. Pretty tilting experience in general which is quite annoying cos I started off playing what I felt was the best I've played in weeks. MAde some rly decent folds which I don't think I would be making if im not playing well or if im tilted... Profit for today: $137.71 Profit for month: $2721.28 $300, 3 days, lets make this happpennn!
