Title: Little things that make you happy
Post by: The Camel on February 20, 2013, 10:25:21 PM
Three happened to me all in one day:

1. Driving through a double parking space in a car park so I didn't have to reverse in or out.

2. Someone giving me their parking voucher with 90 minutes left on it saving me £2.

3. A busker playing "Dirty Old Town" on a penny whistle. Exquisite.

Anything make your day go with a smile?

All good but did you give the busker the £2 you saved?
:)

People who smile and say hello when I'm out on a run or walking to the shops.

In The doctor's surgery this morning I watched as a toddler tried fit wooden blocks through the correctly shaped holes in the box lid.

She managed every one except the triangle. After several failed attempts, she crossed the room, dropped it out of sight behind a radiator, dusted her hands together with a satisfied smile and moved on to the next toy.

My wifes cousin wants me to take her something called Peanut cake back to the States.  I was asking in the office the other day if anyone knew where I could get some and lamenting how much of a hassle it was going to be.  Came in this morning and one of the girls had made me one.

I like free things, but like free things that I actually like.

I got free tickets from 02 for Beyonce, Girls Aloud and Lady Gaga, annoyingly it's not my sort of thing. A nice gesture though.

I also got some free flights for a few European locations, probably user them up when I have some time.

Haha. It's getting a full clean down mate. Don't you worry about that. Well a full clean down once I have scoured it for anything useful. ;)

When you let someone in when you are driving as they either give you a very enthusiastic flashy flashy thank you of their lights, and/or a thumbs up.

Or when you stop to let a bus pull out from a bus stop in front of you and they put their hazards on to say thanks.

Definitely this.  If I let someone out, say on the motorway into the third lane and they don't thank me - I take great pleasure in not letting them out next time.

I also hate when someone gives a nonchalant raise of their index finger from the steering wheel to acknowledge what you did for them.

Haha I recently got one for €15 in Germany too. Was doing 56kmh in a 50 ffs. They caught me coming into a town where the speed limit dropped from 80 too, I am not a serial speeder at all.

TBH if I had known it was so cheap, I would speed all the time.
